Hello everyone

I have applied for UAE ministry of health website..I posted 18 pieces for 9 months

But they said I should only bring medicine for one month! I would stay in Dubai for one year or may be more, I am not a tourist and I need a medicine called amitryptline 25mg twice a day

I needed to bring 12 pieces for enough amount for at least 6 months..I am planning to reduce the dose slowly but I can't stop right now

I called someone in Mohap, he said you should bring by DHL every month, but thats insane! I should pay 400 AED each month to transfer those medicine!!!!

I have Fibromyalgia and Stomach ach and disorder, so I can't just stop the medicine Amitryptline the one considered to be controlled medicine in UAE

I am so confused and not sure what should I do

I thought of just traveling to Dubai without getting online permission
what do you guys think?

I have heard sharjah is not as strict as Dubai..is it true? should I just arrive in Sharjah and then go to Dubai from there without getting online permission?

Thanks for reading, if you have any advice or information
please let me know..I would really appreciated

yes- the country is facing a problem here with this class of medication "controlled" medications. now all controlled medications will be linked to emirates id. if you are requiring controlled medications for long term as you suggest, i highly advise that you are being followed up with a doctor here for such. I am surprised that your home country has given you a stock greater than 3 months. Even in western countries, the dispensing amounts have been reduced as well to prevent, misuse, re-selling, overdosing, without medical monitoring of changes in condition. I would not advise to bring in controlled medications against the law. 6 months of medications is very hard to justify. I have looked after oncology patients returning back from abroad and they are on very high dose control meds, and the MOH allows them sufficient stock to cover for the month until being matched with equal medical coverage. The UAE healthcare system doctors have advanced over the last 20 years, with Western qualified doctors and medications are now here.

If you are not a tourist then visit a doctor in Dubai to get a further prescription.
