Two days! And it is driving me crazy. Four small kids, nothing to do. Went to the mall today ... and wanted to come straight home. What am I going to do for a month???

Feeling your pain guiness, maybe look at going away again (anywhere!). There is only so much baking and playdough one can do!! This year seems really tough.

Go to the beach early morning, collect loads of shells and in the afternoon, let them decorate a cardboard picture frame (cut out from an old box). Then give them a pile of pictures and let them choose one to put inside. Keeps them occupied the whole day. Also goes with leaves/stones/flowers/beads and little cardboard boxes/flower pots. My (4) kids love those arts and craft projects they sell at Park and Shop. They are not that expensive (around dhs 25) and it keeps them busy for ages. Let each of them pick a new dvd. Great fun buying them and keeps them busy a few hours. Have a dress up/fashion show. Play hide and seek. Mine love treasure hunts (I hide pieces of paper with clues and assignments). The treasure is a small (but exciting) present, like a chocolate egg or cotton candy... HTH

Have you tried Children's City at Creek Park? It's a bit different with lots of space to run around. My three little ones enjoy it. I also took them to Pharaoh's Club at Wafi the other morning and we had a fun hour or so floating around the lazy river then lunch in the shade under the trees. I'm always trying to think of options that don't involve a trip to a mall! At the start of the holidays I wrote lots of activities on pieces of paper and put them in an empty tissue box. When we need something to do the kids draw one out and we do it. I find it takes the pressure off always trying to think of something. All the things have to be something you are willing to do at any time though. I wasn't too thrilled when the kids pulled 'Trip on the Monorail and look around Atlantis' out of the box on a morning after a bit of a late one the night before...

I do not think the OP was looking for exercise options for herself, rather activities to keep her 4 (!) LO entertained. Guiness, we do the EW Mums & Toddlers at 10am Sun & Tues (Oasis Centre & Mirdif respectively). Then another play centre at 9 am on Mondays. Half the week accounted for.... My DD loves the cubby house made from dining chairs, popcorn and a kids movie :)

Hi guiness, sorry you are feeling frustrated. I had given up on exercise classes over the summer until I went back to In Shape Gym. http://www.inshapeme.com/ Not only are they running an exercise programme, but some of their classes are late at night, which I assume has been done to fit in with Ramadan. Whilst you may not feel like it after running around after little ones all day, maybe it would give you some much needed me time if your DH is home to babysit?

Perhaps I should repeat, I have *four* small children. I'm sort of looking for things to do with them - I can barely keep up with them, let alone volunteer to help someone else! And the exercise classes I looked into are all saying, "Check back after Eid!" Isn't running after 4 little ones exercise enough?

Do some volunteer work. Check out volunteerindubai.com. Also, I'd suggest exercise classes. They're fun and social. Or maybe yoga? Then go run at the park during evenings. Or read a book. Many girls would kill to have the time off to do these things. :) Perhaps I should repeat, I have *four* small children. I sometimes skip posts when reading.. which I shouldn't! :) I know a lot of exercise classes who are open during Ramadan. Try Core Studio in Dubai Marina. or Exhale Fitness in JBR. The first one, I'm sure they're accepting new members. They still have a promo where if you enter a 3 month membership, the 4th will be free. The classes are good.

You know, I came back with all of these ideas to learn something, take lots of exercise classes, etc, but nothing is on at all this month ... definitely feeling sorry for myself. Am just going to wallow in it for a while.

find a good craft project online to do with your kids? read tons of good books? learn something you have always wanted? language, sewing, golf, etc? go to waterparks? do volunteer work? go through your closets and find stuff for charity? your life is just as happy as happy you make it. hope you find something!
