claire, the DM do not have any vets at the moment and have not had for quite a while. The reason I did post was because there have been a few people who have actually seen the DM vans picking up taged cats, which these people took pictures of and the owners raced down and got their cat, but only after a worker said that there was another room. Glad you will go down again tomorrow to actually see them. Sometimes they are not as forthcoming as they should be. It would be great if she was there. I am sure you will find her though, very close to home.

I have been in touch with Municipality many times this week and I was given the mobile number of the cat catcher guy who works in the Arabian Ranches area. He tells me that he has not been working in AR and is not planning to.. He only goes if they get a complaint of a stray cat. I have spoken to many different people over the past couple of days in my search to find Millie our lovely cat who has disappeared. All the guys at the municipality (and one of them was the manager there) all told me that if the cat comes in and is clearly a domestic cat - which she is.....they are not euthanised. They track their tags if they have them on and are reunited. They have checked the number with me and have given me over the phone my contact details which makes me feel more comfortable that they will contact me as they do have the right numbers. I also had a nice chat with one of the vets who assured me that if the cat is tagged and chipped they are not putting them to sleep. I am going out of my mind and have had a couple of sightings and keep jumping in the car and driving to wherever they think she's been. That's me down at the pound tomorrow - I'm running out of options now and am feeling really sad that maybe I might never see her again......

Why are they picking up all the cats? That's not right surely?

Thanks.... Can we donate to this rather than the euthanasia route? The best way would be to donate to one organisation and specify it is for TNR not just feeding strays.

what is TNR? trap neuter release/return programs, highly effective all over the world but expensive.

i don't understand why they do this - there is a HUGE rat problem here..... isn't it better to have cats?

I have just been informed that the Municipali has been catching cats with tags as well as strays. You must keep your cats in for the foreseeable future until it is sorted. They trap early morning and late evening. If you are missing a cat, go to the Municipality and tell them you want to see the cats...not picture, physically look at the cats. there is also a second room which is nicer, tell them you want in there as well. Go every day if needs be. We are not 100% sure they are waiting the 3 days so cannot say that the cats are held for 3 days. So, head to the municipality and insist on seeing the cats they have in both rooms.
