Thanks twokids. If I don't find a solution in Dubai marina, I will keep her in the other school. I can drive, so it is good as i don't need to rely on a bus, but I just wanted to see all the options, also in Dubai marina. Ideally, if I could stay close to marina, that would be my first choice. Still some brainstorming ahead...:-)

Yes, if she is already in school, then a year in nursery might be unsettling. Are you in Dubai now? Is a school bus to the former school an option? ETA - my DD is 4 in April 2012 and she would have gone into pre-KG in September. edited by TwoKids on 26/08/2011

Thanks a lot TK. I am very confused on where to enroll her ideally. She will be 4 in may, and if we were not to move to Dubai marina, she would start kg1 in her former school. Now, with the coming move and the difficulties of finding a place available, I really don't know what to do. Try to find a nursery, knowing that she will have to move again next year? Or trying to find a real school ( waou, that's scary...) where she will be the youngest? A lot of questions...

I do not have first hand experience yet but I believe that the curriculum will be the same, but the environment might be different. In nursery your DD will be the eldest, while at school she will be the youngest. When I went to a nursery (Blossom Village) I could easily see my daughter loving it there with the outdoor equipment, dress ups and bright classrooms. I think that at 3, there is no real need to rush to go to 'big school' unless you have an FS1 spot in a fabulous school with no chance of a place for FS2. JMHO.

Tanks a lot, twokids. Are there any relevant differences between doing fs1 in a nursery or in a school? Thanks

You could look over SZR into the Springs area - Dubai British School, Emirates International School, Dubai International Academy (DIA) or Regent. I would imagine that they all have waiting lists for this year. You can register for DIA free online. Alternatively there are schools in Umm Al Sheif and Jumeira way - International and Raffles (this might have a nursery). Without a school place you might consider doing FS1 in a nursery such as Blossom. HTH.

Try Wellington International but I'm not sure if they have nursery. For nursery in the Marina I can personally recommend Jebel Ali Nursery (in JBR).

Hi ladies, We might have to move to Dubai marina very soon, and I am looking for a school for my DD, she is 3,5 years old. Any recommendations about any schools? I also have a 1,5 years old, and I plan to put her to nursery at some point, so if the school takes nursery children, it is even better. Thanks a lot
