Know of a good 48hr detox?

After a fab Christmas and New Year (!) I'm looking and feeling slightly worse for wear. A detox is most definitely needed to kick start a healthier start to the year. Can anyone recommend a good 48hr detox I could do over the weekend, as opposed to just starving myself and living off fruit juice?

TIA.

I know of someone who swears by her 3-day detox. I haven't tried it yet but it seems pretty simple. 2 bananas and a glass of skimmed milk. 3 times a day. For 3 days. And lots and lots of water.

Thanks for the replies - they sound a bit more extensive than I was intending, but I might extend the 48hrs a bit longer if I can. How come lime juice is recommended as opposed to lemon juice?

You can start your day with a cup of water with a squeeze of lime juice in it, followed by one small piece of fruit. Half an hour after that have half a cup of wholegrain rice. For the rest of the day as much pref. raw but cooked ok, vege's. As much water as you can manage ( and sometimes a cup of hot water makes you think you're getting something out of it.) No alcohol, no tea, no coffee, no salt, no butter, no oil, no nothing else. and you can do that one up to 7 days.

If you just want to clean out the system try drinking 8 liters of water a day and only eat watermelon. Only do it for the 48 hours though. It will de-bloat you and clear out the systems.

I am doing one now, since yesterday...and for 21 days... My PT recommended it to me, so it's personal, but here it is more of less : Eat only vegetables, avoiding any vegetable that is not grown out of the ground (meaning starch, carrots, etc..) and beans and sprouts. Not onions, no tomatoes (as there is sugar in it), no fruits. Celery and Cabbage are good as the are calorie deficient : You consume more calories eating them that they actually bring. Basically, spinash, broccoli, celery, cabbage, lettuce, cucumber, chicory (he accepted as I love it...). Nuts : Brasilian nuts and almonds only Oil : olive oil, raw only Fruits : blueberries only Spice : Cinnamon, ginger, Cayenne/Chilli (Fresh) Drink a lot of water and fresh lime juice (no lemon, lime. And without sugar). Best waters : Volvic/Evian/Pann Aqua (lots of mineral in it). I would suggest Contrex also (but the test is very strong) Tea : Peppermint is great. No caffeine of course, so no black tea, and be careful with green tea, as it contains caffeine also. Yogi teas (organic Cafe) have a Detox Tea. Hope that helps...
