Leaving a villa - what to do?

We are seriously contemplating moving to another villa, of course we will give it a good clean before we move but I just wondered (as this will be our first move in Dubai) if I need to polyfilla the holes made by curtain poles, fill in the very small holes left by picture hooks etc - we would very much like to get our deposit back and don't want to put that in jeopardy by not doing the right thing! Some of the walls need painting from basic wear and tear, but I guess that would be done routinely by the LL before the next tennants move in?

We've been in the current villa two years. What is acceptable wear and tear?

Thanks in advance for all your help

Just get a pot of DIY polyfiller from Ace and do it yourself. Even comes with a spatula :)

Depends on the LL and how mean he/she is! DH eventually had to doorstep ours for our deposit, despite making good and leaving the place spotless, and having put in trees in the garden.... I believe curtain holes count as reasonable wear and tear but presume it's not written in stone anywhere!

Yes I'd def fill the holes but if in doubt you could just ask the LL what he/she wants to do.

Most LL will give the place a lick of paint but whenever we have moved out we get someone to fill in the holes and make good. Leave the place clean and tidy.

What we believe to be normal wear & tear doesnt mean the LL has the same view. Anything to get money from us. I would personalyl leave the villa the same as when I moved in. A previous LL made some comments when we moved out, all I said to him was when I moved in it was s*** hole, the fridge even had stale molding food in there, milk carton dated back 4 months, the place was filthy. I just stuck to my guns, he had to give in.
