I know it is a long shot but my son seems a lot more ready for primary school than I expected and I can't get a place before September, does anyone know of a primary school that has places starting now?
many thanks

Hi Ceese, apart from jess, other good British schools you could try are Regent and Repton. My children go to regent and we are very happy there. the registrar's very polite. good luck!

you could try Gems Wellington Academy in DSO http://www.gemswis-dso.com/ although I'm not sure if they are open yet.... I know WPS have a few people leaving this time round as well so you may want to try them...

Thanks for the replies! Ideally I would like a British curriculum as he is on the wait list for Jess, only 34th! But Jess did tell me that they would prob a ly only consider him If he comes from a Brit curriculum..

It depends which curriculum/school you choose, but I know for a fact there are 2 kids in my son's class not coming back (FS2) in Jan (tomorrow!) so there are places I'm sure

I agree with Cornish Pixie - get on the phone and call around - there have been quite a few people leave this christmas and, as CP says the Australian schools school year starts in Jan so that's when the Australians tend to head back. good luck - you may well be surprised and can get him in.

You may have more choice than you think! I would call all the registrars at the schools you like and see if they have any places, quite a few SA and Aussies leave at this time of the year and free up places, and the school would rather have someone paying school fees than leave a spot empty til September!
