Just moved to Dubai and looking for a good cardiologist. Almost running out of my maintenance medicine. I'm hypertensive and have a heart condition so I need to regularly see a cardiologist.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

In my opinion, German Heart Centre has the best of them. I have visited Professor. Uwe Klima, then I continued with Dr. Gehad El Gergawy. They are knowledgeable. Helped me calm down and understand. Both of them are amazing and the rest of the staff was friendly they looked after me. I dare to say they might have saved my life on one of the visits. So that is where I would go or have someone go for consultancy.

I had a very interesting chat with the receptionists whilst we were waiting as I had commented on their spotless clinic, and they explained that all clinics in Dhcc do not fall under the DHA, they are licensed separately and the standards are much higher than the DHA. They were preparing fir an upcoming inspection. All doctors must complete continuing education courses to renew their licenses. So it's good to know from a patients point of view that standards are being monitored and maintained. This was all news to me, I was completely unaware of this, but nice to know.:)

I agree with AnonDubai, my husband has used Dr.Kallmayer at the German Heart Center in Healthcare City. it may be a little further for you to drive but its worth it, as they have an excellent reputation, very thorough and you know that the clinics are all strictly monitored in Healthcare City, unlike others in Dubai. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr. Kallmayer.

I had a heart attack in March 2014 and was admitted to Al Garhoud Private Hospital as an emergency where I was operated on by Dr. Mittal who is Head of Cardiology. He carried out two procedures for me and I can't speak highly enough of him. <em>edited by amelia on 08/04/2015</em>
