My son has been doing Abacus maths for more than a year now.but i don't see any improvement in him.I dont know if its the right thing or not.Can anyone recommend anyplace where they teach kumon maths.I do a lot of math practice with him by taking out print outs and work books but its not very helpful.

Just my bit on this brainobrain abacus courses in Dubai. The whole thing is a big farce with franchises being offered to 'lady graduates' only who are trained in a couple of hours to conduct these courses. Worse they are all thouroughly brainwashed through NLP to profit the owners. In terms of results, children are better off not learning these short cuts. Just look around at the toppers in your child class & you will know. I also learn that this company conducts NLPcourses for children which defies logic (check Wikipedia for NLP. (Has this been approved by KHDA?) It is really sad to see so many parents fall for this & mothers like us running these franchises just for a few bucks.

My children do Kumon through correspondence as there is no Kumon centre in Dubai. We do ours with Kumon Bahrain.

Try Sylvan Learning centre. They have two branches in Dubai and are very good however they are pricey....

I can't comment on which one is better but I do know that there are no Kumon centres in the UAE. However, you can do it through distance learning. There is a centre in Bahrain you can contact.
