As an introduction you might want to consider a child minder. I know a lady in the Springs who does childminding. She's UK educated and gives great educational support as well as arts and crafts and social skills. As she only has a few children there, your child will get special attention and it's a subtle introduction before going to a nursery/school. If you're interested, please send me an email on NBLovingLife (at) gmail.com

FS1 is the first yar of school for some British Curriculum Schools. It stands for Foundation stage 1 and generally children start in the September after they have turned 3 years of age. Some schools like Jebel Ali and DESS dont start until FS2 (4years). For schools that start at FS1, if you don't take a place then, there are heardly any extra places left for FS2 and those there are are usually taken by siblings. FS1 and 2 places are in short supply so I would advise you to get on and look at schools sooner rather than later. It is better to enrol at 2 or 3 so you have a backup plan. Close nurseries to you are Seashells in Al Barsha or TLC in Media City.
