Hi just an update. Finally found a gynae - dr fariba- that was able to see me earlier rather than later at the med. Spec. Centre near port / meena road. She was able to tell me I was completely fine after a invasive scan and she is having my bloods tested for thyroid etc. Btw very very gentle and direct manner. Infact it did not hurt at all!

Do come back and let us know how things go. I have a young adult daughter far from me and know it can be hard .

You are young, do make an appointment tomorrow. Dr Janetta at infinity clinic is very good, accross from Park and shop if you do not already have a gyny. Do see a gyny not a G P . 32

cherryblossom77 replied : I get very long periods from time to time and went thru a phase when they hardly ever stopped. No cause was ever found and it just settled down. As this is unusual for you, it makes sense to go to the drs. I know this will seem like an odd statement but maybe you should also check you are not pregnant. cant get/be preg as hubby got snip :-)

Go to the Dr. Probably an anomaly. I've been in the position of changing pads every 20 minutes without any sign of stoppage in the flow - even on worst days, I can get at least 4 hours out of a heavy duty one. Doc prescribed birth control pills and flowage slowed to normal and never had a problem since. No exam was necessary. Don't mean to imply your situation is similar to mine, just that it might not be as bad as you think - but you do have to see the doctor.

Are you taking any new medication? Sometimes going onto a new pill can cause a longer period. I'd say if it goes on to two weeks then certainly see a doctor, if not before.
