Good day! I am 3 months pregnant now and me and my boyfriend are planning to get married in Dubai. Only the problem is we need to take medical exam in order to get married in the court. If they will find out that Im pregnant already, what might be the consequences? Thank you

Have you just moved here? The medical is for HIV/Tuber/Hepatitis - you don't have a pregnancy test for your medical...only the maids are tested for that. However I rem you have a chest xray and that might be harmful for your unborn child. Do try to get married asap and you can get married I the church here..good luck. Dont leave it longer than 2 wks from now. I don't think the OP is referring to the Visa medical. I am assuming she is Muslim, hence the marriage in court with the customary blood tests, perhaps some of the other Muslim ladies on here can advise, perhaps marriage in another Islamic country may be the answer, unless a civil marriage (in Cyprus perhaps) would be sufficient to protect against legal difficulties. Good luck Op, not the best situation to find oneself in. Im a Christian, but my boyfriend is a Muslim. So as the court procedure, we need medical exam for marriage. Just worried when court will find out Im pregnant, just wanna ask why I should not leave it longer than 2 weeks from now? thank you

thank you for your replies. Yes Im a resident here in UAE currently working. My boyfriend is a Muslim so we're getting married in the court, they require medical that is base on Ministry of Health format from government hospital. Im bothered if pregnancy will be tested there. and if found out, would they still allow us to get married or will be imprisoned as Im hearing from a lot of people. thank you

The medical check up before you get married isn't to see if you are pregnant or not. It's a screening for sexual transmitted diseases and genetic disorders that can be passed on to your children.

Anyone on this board should know that getting pregnant, prior to marriage, is illegal in the UAE. Your best bet is to go to abroad (ie Cyprus) and get married.
