Just so I understand what you are saying she said--- that only like should mix? No she doesn't mind the mix but does not value the mix, ideally more locals should be accepted into the private school system so they can have a greater selection to make best friends with. Mixed best friendships were not acceptable as expats are only here "for a few years".

If she thinks like that then perhaps she should take her children out of the international school and put them in a national school where they would be with more of their "own kind"

Did you explain that that is why they have *local* schools? Didn't go down that well.

Or did she mean the private schools should offer free eduation to local kids? No concerns over money.

Does she mean so the local children who already attend the school, have more local children to be friends with? High percentage of local children anyway but other International private schools should accept more locals, it was all about building best friendships for life.

or does she mean that non local children should mix more with local children and build freindshops etc? No she did not feel this was acceptable, i replied this could be seen as racist especially if reversed, she disagreed.

I would view the comment as small-minded rather than racist.
