Good Morning Ladies,

Can anyone recommend a reasonable priced dentist? I do not have cover on my medical insurance so will be paying myself.

Thanks

Yesterday i went to Dr. hamdy in German clinic centre (JLT) i was referred by another dentist .. I have pain in molar tooth, he make x-ray to make sure if he can work with root canal or not, he remove old filing and asked me to see if there is any pain for one night, to decide to done it with new filling or start work with root canal in case of pain not go !! So i came back today, again he told me to stay more three, four days to make sure pain totally will disappear .. Now i am confuse, continue with this doctor or look another one ?!!

For normal fillings and cleaning I recommend Dr. Madhu as the charges are reasonable. However if you are looking out specifically for an orthodontist my recommendation will be Dr. Nazeer Ahmed Meeran. He is extremely good and the charges are very much reasonable compared to other orthodontists in Dubai. Can you please tell me how much does Dr. Nazeer charge for braces? I know that every case is different, but I was quoted 15k for up braces, up an down. For correction of my irregular teeth I was quoted 10k for metal braces. Other "reputed" clinics quoted me between 13-18 K for the same treatment.

Britchick4 - AED400 was total cost - x ray, large filling and cosmetic work ( previously my two front teeth had not been even. They now are) He also cleaned and polished. I was put on to him by a couple of expats who swear by him. His x ray machine was the most high tech I have seen.

We can recommend Dr. Christopher at the Mankhool Dental Clinic, which is almost opposite the Karama Post Office. We were put onto him by some very long-time Western expats who refuse to pay the insane prices charged by the "big name" dental practices. We get a limited amount of dental cover from DH's company medical insurance, but there's no direct billing for dental and they will only reimburse a total of 2000 dhs per person per year. DH just recently needed to have a loose filling replaced. Total cost was 600 dhs, which broke down to 350 dhs for the filling and 250 dhs for the descale and polish. edited by Madge_Gustard on 06/12/2013

Dr Madhu is excellent, and his prices are really reasonable. I travel from Doha to see him, as he very gentle and understanding.

I highly recommend Akeela Dental Clinic in the Gardens. The doctor is lovely and professional and they just opened last month so they are doing special opening price and free consultation.

Think I paid about 350 for a filling. Dr. Hamdy is a dental surgeon, which I believe involves five years extra training and he regularly travels to Germany and the UK to lecture.

Hi ladies, Feefmick....was that 400dhs for the whole lot? Wow, that is cheap. I paid 1000dhs for one large filling, check up, X-ray, polish and scale, and this was at a dentist that was highly recommended on here as being reasonable, (he was lovely though and I was at ease with him). Unfortunately, I am still having pain in the same tooth, it's actually worse. I think I may try your dentist for that price.

I second Dr Hamdy. Went there Tues at 5.15pm. Got lost and was late but did call to warn them. He was lovely despite me being 15 mins late. He also llet my DD 'help' which she loved. X ray, large filling and a bit of cosmetic work plus cleaning and was AED400. Seemed very professional appeared to know what he was doing.

We've been going to Dr. Hamdy at the German Dental Centre in Fortune Tower on JLT. No consultation fee and very reasonably priced.

Dr Madhu always gets good reviews on here. I believe he is Karama I am using Dr Jafar and his team at the Jumeriah Beach Road dental centre He probably isn't the cheapest but not as expensive as others I trust him and he and his team are wonderful
