:\:

Is it just me that thinks that those "designer" items look like they have been worn by someone and a label shoved back on? Flaws in them, pulls in them..

Banana Republic - have "made for an outlet " stuff that is twice the price of the Euro tag that is on it!

Maybe for small children it's good - I don't look at that - but the rest of it.. I feel like weeping when I go into that Tommy Hilfiger store and compare it with my usual...

Always stock up on my Geox from Allied, got a cracking pair of knee highs for 180aed, crocs are cheaper, buy all my sports gear from there. Mamas and papas is a hit or a miss as is any outlet. R&R jeans for less than 200aed. Bought all my stuff for hikking in peru from outlet mall for a fraction of the price. Not great for everything but it is after all an outlet mall.

I also don't like those shops that have just those cheap clothes - they are not a bargain, they don't sell at higher. That is the usual price.

I went last night and it was utter rubbish. Got one t-shirt from Pumpkin Patch and that was it.

LoL, so glad its not just me. I thought the place was a total ripoff, some of the things at OM were more expensive than in BurJuman!

Thanks, not needing to go in there, was just curious as I had never seen it there before. But I do tend to walk around in dreamland sometimes...lol

Thanks MrsMopp ;) Not sure you will find much. There's the baby clothes, but hundreds of the same in different sizes and often 'buy one get one free' rather than discounted. Usually have a good stock of furniture (book shelves/baby changing tops/toy chests), some mattresses but never standard cot/bed size. Some Christmas bits and maternity wear ( which you wont need right now!) Can pick up great car seats and an occasion good deal on a pushchair/bouncer or rocker.

How I miss TK Maxx. TJ Maxx in the US and Marshalls! and DSW shoe warehouse!! I can fill a car boot with one trip into Marshalls! :) I wish we had places like that here! Shame we don't! I actually take an empty suitcase home...its so much cheaper back home! shopping here is so overpriced! I just got a shedload of beautiful maternity clothes-the most expensive dress being 29.99 usd and the baby clothes for my boy...god I love shopping back home!

Where is the Mamas and Papas store in that outlet mall? As you go in stick to the right, past The One, Rodeo etc and its a third of the way up on the right. I did buy a few bits from the white company there and I have had a few bargains from THE ONE, but never any clothes! Its all dusty and grimy rubbish :-(

Where is the Mamas and Papas store in that outlet mall? I have to agree... I just cannot get into the whole 'outlet mall' craze. Even back home. I just hate searching through messy racks of clothes if only to save a few dollars. I like to walk into a store and have everything merchandised properly where the clothes jump out at me. Its not a snobbery thing, I believe it stems from when I worked in fashion retail. Sale time was horrible... and messy!!!

The 'Outlet Mall' experience is greatly exaggerated. Even for toddler clothes you have to hunt for a good long time to find two-three items that are reasonable. Even then the price doesnt say anything outletish about it. We have even gone a couple of times and come back empty handed. So we stopped going altogether, its not a bargain at all IMO.

went into mamas and papas in outlet mall, and the staff were quite honest in that they sell reject stock from otehr stores in dubai....e.g. returns, faulty items etc.... obviously this may not be the case for other stores....but thought it was interesting.... not the same standard of outlet malls back home though, sadly x

I go in that mall and wonder what deep dark storeage unit they dug these "designer" cloths out of. And then I wonder who in the world wears that stuff...

Was pretty shocked at the inflated prices of clothes in British/European/ US stores while I was in Doha. So much so that I lived in cheap tee shirts, blouses and tailor made crops (which were far cheaper) during my 2 years there. I did buy a few tops etc but that was it. Is great to be able to buy clothes at reasonable prices now that I'm home.
