Humm.... So the Nepalese agency should be able to help me with that as well normally...? My DH was actually planning to go to Nepal himself, interview some of them to come up with a good feeling (he has experience in recruiting in such countries) and then hire. Eventually he might do that to help out some other people as well and hire more than one...

I have a Nepali houseboy and yes he always prefers coming to Dubai and going to Delhi vis.a.vis Nepal. Apparently the Nepali Authority asks for bribes from these guys for letting them leave for employment overseas. I am very happy with him so I would recommend a Nepali maid as well.

I am also trying to hire a Nepali maid, but the nepalese hiring company told me that their government indeed does not allow this anymore. Zoya or anybody else, what is the route to use? Still want to persist on hiring a nepali. Thanks Get them to Delhi and book a flight for them from Delhi or Mumbai. Make sure they carry their NAAGRIKTA PATRA (Proof of Citizenship) with them. Due to increase in Human Trafficking, the Nepal govt. has issued some order that restricts the Nepali maids from working in Gulf Countries.

You can hire a nepali maid. The only problem is that the Nepali maid should be able to leave their country !!! There is a ban on women working as housemaids in Nepal. To come legally, they must have their passports stamped by the Ministry of Labour and Foreign Affairs in Nepal. Mostly they shell out 20-25 k (nepali rupees) to be able to board the flight from Kathmandu. I had a Nepali maid for 1.25 years. Had to send her back as I found her hitting my child !!!!! But have many friends who are very Happy with their Nepali maids, so dont worry :-) Hope it works out for you :-)
