i went in with my 2 gfs whom never been inside the boutique ever, so i took them in. but i never own any 1 piece of their products, anyhow, the 1st sales person was just so-so but the 2nd one was abit snotty... so i asked her to her face "are you unhappy today?"she got the message. i tend to ask these sales person straight to their face when they behave in such manner. if it is packed with other customers the better!

I don't get the queueing up thing......does it make people feel grateful once they are inside? That they are allowed to spend their money??

I've never been into LV, as a nurse I don't earn very much so I have other priorities for my "hard earned" but good luck to those who can afford the good stuff. I did go into Cartier once at Dubai Mall, I wanted to by my OH a set of nice cufflinks and was curious about their range. They obviously knew I would be just looking but were very polite and showed me their range, and were gracious when I almost gagged at the price. Maybe one day...

Thanks for all the responses ladies - glad to know that I'm not the only one who's experienced this garbage from LV staff in Dubai. I've never bought anything from LV before as I don't even like the brand. The knock offs are very good these days, so it's not even worth it to buy a bag worth a month's salary! Either way, this is NOT over by far. My pride was hurt, a small fortune was paid for their crappy merchandise, and to add insult to injury, I'm not even using the bag because it reminds me of how pompous their store is. JS, do you have the email addresses of the LV people here and in Paris? I was trying to find it online but wasn't able to, and surprise surprise, they won't pick up the phone :S

LV staff at Dubai Mall are quite rude! They have you waiting around for ages and then keep disappearing to deal with other customers! - most annoying!....on the other hand, DH bought me an LV bag as a wedding gift in Paris and the staff there were 10 times ruder - had to queue outside for ages and then the Sales Assistant said she could only show me 3 bags max, as they were closing soon!! Now, for me to buy an LV bag is a big purchase - might not be for others, but I think they should treat all customers the same!

Cartier at The Dubai Mall will no longer get my business and probably not Cartier anymore I walked into the store and it was completely empty. When I got to the counter a male employee less than arms length from me completely turned his back to me like I was invisible and told his co-worker "she's not going to buy anything, look at her-you take her" and then walked away! The lady was polite but at this point I was so disgusted I left and did not purchase what I came there for.(love bangle) The irony? I was wearing a total 6 carat engagement ring from Cartier!! You should have made him show you everything in the shop and then bought the bangle of the other sales assistant (as they work on commission)

I think she meant a total of 6 carats and not a 6 carat solitaire.

Me, I decided from more than one year that I will not spend more money on branded handbags and shoes.. No more.. they dont deserve.. My fiance got me an engagement ring from Cartier and it is very very expensive, you wont believe the attitude I got as I wanted to change the size.. I waited for so much time, and then the sales dont speak good english, they dont listen to what I say... etc... A terrible experience. Seiously, no more..

I went into LV when I was browsing for my 40th birthday present. MOE were just rude, Dubai Mall ok but nothing special. I finally decided on a Chanel handbag and I was treated like a queen - both my children (3 and 6), buggy and husband were all welcomed and after finding out it was for my birthday I was given loads of perfume samples and extra gifts. I don't frequent designer stores very often but have been into Gucci as well and Chanel by far has been the friendliest and most welcoming even before I was going to buy and was just browsing.

Why stop at LV, ALL the shop assistants are like this in Dubai. I went to Bloomingdales Harvey nicks and Gallery L while I was in Dubai, not only are the clothes and shoes revolting (I’ve not seen any of the clothes in Dubai in Harrods/Selfridges or Harvey Nicks in the UK) the shop assistants are beyond rude. I could not believe the attitude of some of them. I just gave up in the end I would rather not spend my money in a shop that only employs idiots. edited by tally-ho on 30/04/2011

I totally understand why you are angry!! It is the same attitude always at LV, I used to stand there sometimes at their MOE for an hour and no sales would offer to help!! And that makes me angry more that I carry their LV bags with me so I am not really there just to see all handbags and leave! Anyway I suggest that you make a written complain to their main office in FRANCE with a copy to their main office here in Dubai. I did that once with GUCCI and I won :) I took for them a bag to clean it and after more than 2 months they called me saying that the bag is ready for pick up. When I went there I had to wait in a long queue and finally someone got me the bag and I was going to have a heart attack when I saw it!! The origina bag with pink with gucci logo all over it, and after cleaning the pink color and the logo vanished, on one side more than the other. When the sales person saw the look on my face, he told me laughing:"It is ok, you can wear it on the other side".. He wanted me to pay 290dhs for cleaning the bag .. so anyway another lady came in, so he left me standing and went to show her their new collection.. I felt that I will cry so I left the store in order to focus and see what I will do.. I called a friend who is a lawyer and she told me not to take the bag and that tomorrow we will write a complain to their office in Italy. I wrote a complaint letter and after a week I got a call from the store here asking me to go and get another bag from their new collection, the pink bag I bought from Italy on discount but here they told me that they will calculate as per original price.. SO I paid less in Italy for that pink handbag and then here I got a new bag more expensive :) and I didnt pay one dirham!! Bottom line: make a complaint.

Write a formal complaint. Be as specific as you can and try to put everything in detail (dates, times, name of sales person, etc.). Address it to the store managers of LV store in MoE & Dubai Mall AND copy it to Middle East Manager plus Head Office in Paris. If you can't find the email addresses, use their fax numbers. Speaking from experience you might get a "nice" compensation.... ;)

Please write a formal complain to their HQ. Just copy and paste what you have written here in an e-mail to them. They need to know how their brand is coming across here. I had similar experiences at Dior and Coach in Dubai Mall and now buy any designer goods I want when I travel back home to the UK where you are treated as you rightly should be when you are spending a small fortune in their store. I must say that Hermes has got it spot on here and their staff are very helpful and not as snooty as in other stores.

Very irritating but not surprising I'm afraid - this is a brand which selects which customers it wil deign to sell some bags to! On top of that, sales staff in Dubai sadly have no concept of any customer type expect 'nouveau riche' decked out in bling. One reason I rate shopping in the US above anywhere else - staff are expected to realise that no matter how someone is dressed or their situation (kids etc.) they may have money to spend. One word; commission!

To be honest I have heard about their horrid customer service before.... Dont think they are going to change as a girlfriend of mine wrote to their headquarters in Paris about the ordeal she went through and never even got an acknowledgement.

Thats disgusting, I dont know who they think they are, in these shops sometimes. The job is 'sales assistant' hello?! Its a shame that a brand like LV has this kind of staff in dubai. you should write a formal complaint.
