Terrible Shopping Experience at Louis Vuitton!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to vent about a shopping experience that I felt totally berated in.
Went to LV at MOE to exchange a handbag that I got as a gift from my mother last week. Had to wait 10 minutes in line to even get into the store (which was empty to say the least). Everyone in line was fuming. Got in, had a look around and no one came to help me. No problem - went to a sales person and asked if there was anything in the price range of AED 4000 for an exchange. She very arrogantly informed me that they have nothing in this price range, only wallets. My jaw dropped and her disgusting attitude, and the fact that I'm carrying an LV handbag with this price! Not wanting to make a scene, I looked around some more and figured that I would leave this pompous store and check out LV at Dubai mall the following week.
I ended up going to Dubai mall with my twin toddlers and nanny the next week only to be informed that my stoller was not allowed inside the store?????????????? What the **** was I supposed to do with my kids?? I told them this is not a problem, I can either release my toddlers on their store at their responsibility, or they can let me bring my stroller in. THe guy was trying to be nice and said ok fine. Then this lady runa over from the other side of the store to tell me that the stroller was not allowed inside. I was fuming by this time - especially since the door greeter was giving me this look of pure disgust at what I was trying to do?? I HAD to make the exhange, so I told my nanny that I'll only be 10 mins, and to please wait outside with the kids. Went inside and had an LV bag in my hand - then the security guard started following me aorund - every step I'd take she was on my tail!!! I t was like something from a cartoon! Got a sales lady to help, chose a bag, made the exhange after the sales person checked with the MANAGER first, paid the difference. Before I left, I asked for the store manager. The sales person told me that he was not in - Huh?? But you just checked with him about the exchange! Either way, went straight to the door greeter who gave me a disgusting look and made her apologise for her actions. I still feel like I lost my pride going into that terrible store. I'm not even happy about my handbag because of their disgusting treatment of their customers! No, I do not feel privilaged going into that store, nor do I feel privilaged for being allowed to purchase their items. LV highly NOT recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't get any of these problems in Karama. ROFL :D .... But on a serious note ... why not buy things that are just functional, durable and stylish? I love my centrepoint handbags!

I lived with an Emirati family who had 4 daughters, they often went out shopping alone and then met up with their friends once finished for coffee. Maybe the girl in question was waiting to meet her friends. And they do sometimes strike up conversation believe it or not, had one do it to me just 3 weeks ago in I.B Mall as we were browsing Clinique, turns out she was from the same family as my ex emirati partner and we stood chatting for over 20 mins as she waited for her friends to come out of a clothes shop. I stand corrected although it does surprise me. I am very good friends with 3 Emirati families here and none of the young girls go to the mall without friends or family accompanying them. It would also be unusual for the girls to strike up a personal conversation with a stranger, particularly a lady not in an abaya, but again maybe those I know well are more conservative. I do still believe that the comments from ratarsed are ficticious. A fake next to a real bag will always have differences even if they are subtle. I also know some families who do not let the girls go out without mum and sisters with them, but some these days seem to be quite trusting, especially if the girls were able to attend Uni outside UAE. I bought a load of fake bags at Dragon Mart, they look great on the outside but inside they are tat. Infact my lovely gucci has recieved so many compliments until they hear me open the zip, it sounds cheap cheap cheap lol, like someone scraping a spoon down a cheese grater.

I'd second the great service in Karama! At least they actively encourage you to buy. Was out with my fake channel today. Sitting in Mercato mall and this sweet, dressed to the nines Emirati girl came up to me with an identical bag in another colour. She said "oooh, I love this colour. I wanted one of those." I smiled and said hers was very pretty too. So she sits down and we compare the bags. No joke mine was identical. Totally identical apart from the colour. I looked inside and everything - we were comparing make up at that point. I know there are many women who claim to spot a fake at 100 paces but Ms designer Emirati couldn't... I asked where she got hers and she said "oh Paris... you couldn't get this colour here." Hilarious. I did ponder whether she had actually got hers in the same shop as me in Karama but I figured everything else (jewelry, watch) looked pretty real that her bag was real. I think you may have had a ratarsed dream. There is not an iceballs chance in He!l that a Emirati girl would strike up a personal conversation with a stranger nor would she be alone at the Mall. If you are going to tell porky pies at least make them semi believable. What a name (not)! You post about handbags from Karama is so shallow and tacky. Oh my. Who drank your milk? Oh wait a minute, was that you in Mercato Mall? Have I outed your bag?

I love what Condeleeza Rice said when she got attitude in an expensive jewellery shop. 'Let's get one thing clear. If you could afford anything in here, you wouldn't be behind this counter. So I strongly suggest you do your job.' She really said that? LOL. Wonder what kind of service she got after this~~~ Can' t be really good! I would imagine that they pooped their pants and she got A1 service after that!

Bad attitude sales people? Ignore the attitute, get their attention by telling them that you are planning on buying several items, start pointing out items that you want to buy, have them put them aside, and then tell them you changed your mind and walk out. Lol!!! Good one for payback! :)

I've also got bad service in many of those high end shops. As for me, the best service for LV is in Bur Juman. Staff is friendly and helpful. P.S. I'm not working there :-) I'm just new on this site

I might be stoned for this, but I really really really don't like any of the Louis Vuitton bags. I hate paying zillions for something, and then have to market it and its brand everytime I wear it. Have seen some beautiful ones, but these are the ones that don't have LV plastered on them....

I am with you here. I don't really get why you want to pay for something everybody walks around with. I discussed this with a huge LV fan and she said 'it's like jeans, everybody has it but everybody wears it differently'. But that didn't make me much wiser... Would like to know but I guess it is a totally different thread. For this one, it's just terrible that anybody gives you attitude when you spend a fortune (and actually any other time). As if you can't have money when you are not dressed up like when you do. The shadowing, totally HATE it and I just walk out of the store when they do. Wish I was a bit more like some girls here and just tell them what I think!

I'd love to say, "I don't know why you're acting as if you're so much better than me, it's not as if YOU can afford to shop in here." (But I never would.) I've been lucky with the attitude, but I hate the shadow following me around the store. The next time it happens I WILL ask them if they have good reason to suspect I'm going to steal from them. If they say No then I'm going to ask that they stop following me as if I have THIEF tattooed on my forehead. If they say Yes however, then I'll really be stumped :) What if they did say yes??? LOL! :D :D :D

LV is soooo expensive and a lot of people actually save money for years before making such huge purchases . Its a shame really that they have to face such a treatment. I really dont understand why shop assistants have to show so much attitude afterall they are being PAID for showing the customers the stuff .... Honestly even if we the customers dont buy anything at all and just pop in the shops to browse even then they should behave properly as that's their job to stand in those shops and let people see but the attitude makes everyone think that they cannot step into these shops if they dont want to buy anything..... noted down the 'you work in a shop, you can drop the attitude' lol .... love it

i went in with my 2 gfs whom never been inside the boutique ever, so i took them in. but i never own any 1 piece of their products, anyhow, the 1st sales person was just so-so but the 2nd one was abit snotty... so i asked her to her face "are you unhappy today?"she got the message. i tend to ask these sales person straight to their face when they behave in such manner. if it is packed with other customers the better! i do this too. i have no qualms asking (loudly) "having a bad day love?" I do this too and they smarten really quickly

anyone else from the UK thinking LV = luncheon vouchers, or am I showing my age? DH had a similar experience in the UK buying a BMW - one branch was extremely snotty so he walked out in his scruffy jeans and tshirt and hotfooted it to another dealer who were welcoming. Needless to say he bought the car from them and gave them the service contract - it was a company car, lots of mileage so lots of servicing - and wrote to the other one and told them!
