OK, so i managed to screw up my ny resolutions...so now i've decided i want to buy a bike and start cycling around barsha :) I don't want to spend a lot of money...as i know you can get them quite cheap here, max aed650 (my friend got one delivered the other day, but the supplier is out of stock now until end Feb...if i leave it till then i'll have another excuse not to do it) sooo...does anyone have a contact for cheap bikes, or is anyone interested in selling theirs? (i know this isn't completely the right forum to do this...but i'm desperate) mail me if you have one sammessedup at hot mail dot com thanks

i want to get mine fixed, tyers, new chain etc - is it just cheaper to get a new bike? I also used Decathlon at MCC. I was at the point of almost ditching a bike with broken gear and rusty chain etc. They fixed it much cheaper than the cost of even the cheapest new bike. Great service.

i want to get mine fixed, tyers, new chain etc - is it just cheaper to get a new bike? Decathlon offers a bike service. I got my dd's bike serviced for 70dh and it included a new chain and a tube for a wheel, I think there was something else too.

Wolfies is good but expensive, I think there are alot more options now and def Decathlon is worth a check out, they are good quality and prices. I got mine (road bike) at Rage ? in DFC and love it, but it was nearer 2000 AED, but that was before Decathlon arrived :-( Anyway it is a fab way to get fit, after a few days cycling out my house and round Mirdif I was addicted and love it, all that fresh air - enjoy ! Unless you're a "serious" cyclist Wolfie's prices are unnecessary. Great if you race and want a carbon frame etc but not for keep fit.

Quite a lot of bikes at The Outlet Mall. Alternatively what about a second hand one, I bought mine second hand after seeing advertised on the noticeboard at Le Marche. You could post a wanted add here in the classified section.

i personally find cycling a great wat to lose weight (with sensible dieting) particularly as it's my bottom half that needs more workout...I also find that i don't get bored as easily with cycling, but you have to break into a sweat, it's not just an afternoon/ eve stroll...

Kind of off topic, but i was thinking about getting a bike as well. Is it an efficient way to lose weight with sensible dieting? I would be riding it around JLT. Why is it you prefer a mountain bike?
