I've been to Malaysia 9 times in 10 years and never had a Hep A or B vaccination and much of my time has been spent hiking through the countyside and jungles :)
I travel to Malaysia frequently and have never been told to get Hep B, only Hep A and Typhoid.
If you are staying in a nice hotel in KL you should be fine without, my mum has never bothered about vaccines for Malaysia and my DS has never any and he has been travelling there since he was 6 months (bad mummy):\:
Just make sure you read up on prevention. For Hep A you are most at risk from contaminated food or water. This applies for typhoid too - you might want to consider the vac for this also. For hep B you are at risk from contaminated blood / bodily fluids.

I'm going to Malaysia and didn't realise, through my own fault, that I should have Hep A and B vaccines. I have booked an appointment for today but obviously the won't be effective in time. I'm paranoid now about getting Hepatitis! :( Any experience?
