I personally do not think we have a lot of dust. We are on the 4th floor and yes the balcony needs swept quite often but inside does not seem to need it as much. But then we were in Al Ain we lived on a building site and had constant sand and dust under doors and in windows so anything would seem much better!!!
Hi there sorry just in cos I have been working today. We like it here. There seem to be lots of security guards around (one even rescued me when I locked myself on the balcony!) Have not seen cctv. We are in block 12A and there are children playing outside every night on bikes etc. We dont have kids so not asked about play areas but were told grassy areas were to come (no idea when) Each building has a garbage shute and there are skips for bigger rubbish there too. Saw a pest control man spraying round the buildings the other night but we have had no ants etc. Maintenace seems good. We had a small leak in a bathroom when we moved in and it was fixed as soon as we rung. Lots of cleaners about all the time and hallway seems to be cleaned every day. We are on fourth floor and not much noise at all (except drills from people building furniture and puting up curtain rails as they move in.) The kids outside seem to be of all nationalities and seem to play well but thats just from looking at them fromt he balcony. Hope this helps
Is your flat in ghorrob well insulated from dust? I have before heard of apartments and villas in dxb that due to poor worksmanship ends up dusty inside forever, the windows seemingly not done properly-must be with gaps etc.The EWer was then complaining of perpetuality cleaning her place.
thnx waterlily. tomorrow my DH & I will go from the office to Mirdiff and check around. Our budget is just for a 2 bed aprt or villa. We need to transfer in 4 weeks.if you see anything kindly let me know. i need some area for the kids to bike and play- so it could nt be all Built up area.

hi aberdeenshiregirl.we desperately need your comments on ghoroob. i ope you're not a leasing agent. heehe.
we visited yesterday and found a suitable apartment. I liked the finish inside. my concern was that it looked like there woul dbe no place for my kids to play. where do you see the kids play down? are there really no facilities coming up? how is the cleaning of your building?pest control and garbage collection? are there cctv on the hallways? I want to know how they are going about this things. dont want to have the same problems as what we have now in my building - when lots of tenants filled the building, there was no more discipline. and a once hotel like building has now deteriorated.would appreciate info.thanks
There are 2 or 3 bedroom appartments. It suits us as we are here just as a couple. It is lovely to look out at night onto the Mall side and there are plenty of kids of all nationalities playing below. Plane noise we have got used to and only 5 minutes walk to the Mall. Not seen a lot of europeans yet but still filling up. We are on fourth floor and dont have much noise from others. Big sitting room cum dining room. Bedrooms smallish but adequate. 2 ensuites and 1 toilet. good size balcony and smaller one too.
Aberdeenshiregirl,
Ah Ghoroob! We had neighbours who moved from Mirdif East for Ghoroob and they seem to be very happy with it also
How are the REAL size of the appartments? Is it for families only or are their also some bachelors? In the evening is it quiet?
Hi,
Laura00
Please tell me where you have moved because actually my husband and I we live in Mirdif and this part has become a so big nightmare!!
Regards,
Baklawas
It's a real shame as during the winter months it was one of our favourite places to go.
It was never going to last though was it? An outdoor mall in Dubai...??? What were they thinking? I think it could possibly have been ok if they'd kept it smaller and more compact so you didn't have to walk that far. But yes, very sad.
We went there last week. Shocked to see almost everything closed down. So sad as it was quite a nice area. For sure the apartment prices there will drop.
