Can you do this in Dubai these days or is it still not possible?

Thanks for all replies ladies. I will speak to my husband to see what he wants to do. Wiggy not sure if rules have changed recently or not...I spoke to Medcare earlier today and the nurse clearly knew what I was asking but she said vasectomy's definitely not done there (or officially anyway!) I had my baby at Medcare 2 years ago and was told that you make an appointment with the urologist and discuss it with them, they then say you have a medical reason to do a vasectomy and they do it, if you call they say they don't do it.

Has anyone's husband had it done here? What is Dr Gauer like? Husband a bit nervous about trusting someone here.

I know two men who had it done (they have now since left Dubai). It was about 4 years ago and I am sure both were done at Medcare Hospital.

Eight years of working in healthcare here I've never 'officially' known anyone to have it done, if you get my meaning? There are some very good urologists here and they are capable of this procedure, willing is another matter. Find a good one and ask. Otherwise make sure that if you do go back home to have it done, you (your dh) don't fly back the next day! Ouch! Good luck!

It [i'>can[/i'> be done here, in a few places (and not backstreet holes either). Otherwise a day trip to Marie Stopes in your summer UK holiday might be an option :)

We were at a check up for our health insurance last week and asked doctor about it. He said there is only one licensed urologist allowed do it here. He suggested that we are best to go back home to get it done. That's what we will do.

OK I phoned several hospitals today and they all said a definite NO! So now looking for some advice ladies...does my husband just book an appt with an urologist in Dubai and ask him about it? My issue with the urologist's here is that it sounds like they may not do many vasectomy's so their skills might not be up to scratch?? Also which hospital to choose? Otherwise it needs to be a trip back to the UK. Anyone got any recommendations there? Thanks

If you see a urologist they do it, but don't advertise they do. Thanks thats good to know, I shall investigate further.
