I have a one year old, this is our first summer in Dubai. My husband was here last year but worked all the time. Can anyone give me suggestions for activities on the weekend? Hubby says it's only malls we can go to as it's getting too hot outside but I feel my one year old will be bored in buggy all the time.

Many thanks

I have a 17mnth old and we love to hit the beach early, as in 7:30amish. They're normally up early anyway so why not get out. We take drinks, snacks and shelter and stay for a few hours then head home for nap time. Its great and I look forward to it every weekend and the water is heavenly at this time of the year.

Hiya I have an 18month old and things are def harder in the summer months and require more imagination. We also tend to head out for a walk, trip to the beach, breakfast in the park very very early and are normally home by 10am. DD will then go for a sleep for a few hours and then we head back out around 4pm. The malls are also obviously nice n cool and most of them have some kind of play area in them that when your litte one gets bored in the pram they can play in. We were thinking that we definately need to meet up with more families at the weekend so that the kids have playmates and we can have some adult chat as the malls do get a bit boring. I think that there are also a few good family brunches that you could maybe try?

I detest malls, but it has been a while since I had a 1year old. You can fall out of bed and still in your pj's (yes, we do do that!) head to one of the open beaches. It's still lovely there at 6 -7 o clock in the morning, and right now that water hasnt heated up too much so it's still refreshing. You can do at least until 9 without cooking yourselves, take breakfast and have a picnic. Alternatively...head down in the evening for a picnic dinner...though I prefer the morning. Childrens City down by the creek. Dolpinarium.
