I need surgery and need some advice. Has anyone had surgery in Welcare? Will appreciate any reviews or advice. I thought about the American Hospital as an alternative but believe they are really expensive. Is it worth considering?

mareike 76 thanks for recommending Dr John McEwen at City Hospital, I went there for a consultation and just like you said, he is very professional with an excellent bedside manner. I decided to have my surgery done there Thanks again.

City did my appendectomy last year and it was brilliant. Parking at Welcare is a nightmare and not something you want to contend with if a bit unwell...

I need delicate ENT surgery. Any recommendations? Dr John McEwen operates at City Hospital - has operated on DS twice and has amazing bedside manner. I would trust him 100% for any ENT issues.

My poor Mum came to visit and had an accident here....she spent two weeks in City hospital purely to fix the stuff ups of the American Hospital. I won't set foot in the American hospital again. We had such a good experience at City Hospital, perhaps you might consider there instead?

it really depends whether you have to pay for it yourself, some hospitals are just a rip off. i already was at welcare, city hospital and american hospital. I like city hospital the best, the organization is great and the amenities as well. american hospital also has great amenities and both hospitals have very good doctors, but I would defintely read their cv online and only go to them if they are board certified in some western country (us, Uk, germany) and have many years of experience in the exact field you require it. I think the choice of doctor is far more important than the hospital itself. the welcare hospital looks not very nice, I think it is quite outdated and there are a lot of low income patients (philippinos, indians, pakistanis,...) however, that is not a negative, and might mean that they don't charge so much, so it really depends what you are looking for.

I would go for Welcare. I have had good experiences at both hospitals but I find the staff just a bit more friendlier at Welcare.

i would definitely go for welcare. would not chose american hospital even if it was cheaper. had a couple of really bad experience there. however probably someone will comment the opposite,... so why do not you go and see bth dpctrs, and decide who feels more genuine and more caring?

Had my appendectomy at American hospital in feb.it was very costly but everything was covered in insurance soon pain. Service is also very good although you will find a lot of negative posts here. Well my experience with welfare is no-good.they took 15 days to start my physic when I was in lots of pain and then also I have to wait for another 1 week! Gd luck whatever hospital you choose.depends on surgery too what you are going for.
