Food is rubbish but it is fun although my 2 year old was petrified and every time we walk past now he tells me he is frightened! So I would be careful if yours are really little! edited by boysboysboys on 06/01/2011

I love the rain forest cafe and have dragged DH into many over the years pre child :\: however although the effects are great and its so pretty with a great view of the aquarium, the only food to order is the burger and it's massive. I sent back two meals in a row because they were inedible swill. It hasn't a patch on the US and my DS cried the first time, but I go for the, "keep going til he loves it like I do" thing and now guess what? He loves it like i do :)

Our kids are older and we did not like it very much. The food was not nice and I thought bit expensive for what you get, especially the deserts. The special efects are good the first few times but are then repititious. Maybe it's better for younger kids. We'd been to the one in London and that seemed better.

Funnily enough my three year old loved all the moving animals but was traumatised by the man dressed up as a frog! Every time we walk past there now she cries 'no frogman!' and runs away! We went for my other daughter's birthday and you have to purchase the 'volcano' dessert for them to sing for you. The food was pretty terrible I'm sorry to say, I had quesadillas that tasted like rubber and the kids pizza was horrid.

There are vouchers - believe they are 2 for 1. Check the Entertainer Family. I liked the cafe itself, easy foods and lots to look at, including the aquarium. However my sweet toddler screamed when the animals started coming alive, which unfortunately happens every 15 minutes or something. We were right in front of a large gorilla that was shaking a branch. So, we didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped, but older kids would love it, I'm sure! Same happened to me when DS was 3 (he's now 6) took him Rainforest Cafe in the States.... on the way to the toilet we walked past the biggest gorilla as it came alive & it scared the living daylights out of him. He still to this day remembers it & refuses to go back as I'm dying to check out the one in DM.

The food is a bit naff but it's a great, fun experience for the kids. Perfect for a birthday. Have fun!

It's a fun place for the kids. I'm sure if you tell them you are celebrating a birthday they will make it extra special. My 2 love it.

I don't find the food to be as good as the ones in the US are. Nor do I find it's atmosphere to be that great here. To me it is small and cramped.

Food is mediocre but the kids LOVE it. Having been once, that's what my daughter decided to do for her birthday.
