How does one know about all these things ? Is there a difference between Wii sports and other Wiis ?
Is a playstation similar but other brand ?
I'm looking for clever games that interest the kid but helps it focus/ concentrate...

Depends on the age of your children. We bought a Kinect just after Christmas and returned it after a week and bought a new Wii (old one broken due to DS posting dirhams in it!). The Kinect was just too frustrating as it picked up light reflecting off the floor and if anyone walked behind the player using it, it just couldn't cope. We found there were hardly any games available and all were quite difficult for our 5 year old to use. It was too frustrating to watch!

so if the kinect doesn't get you to use your hands, how does it work ? thanks Don't know if I am right, but my son describes it as a camera that tracks your movements.

if you're fussy, in our opinion the graphics on the PS3 are much better than the Wii..

At the basic level, Wii's, Playstations, PS3's, and Xboxes are all hardware items, like a DVD player, that you can hook up to your TV and then play games on. A Playstation, Xbox, or PS3 (which stands for Playstation 3) is a game box that offers "traditional" controls, i.e. a joystick(s) and movement arrows. So, to control the game, you have to manipulate the controller correctly. A Wii (and Kinect, possibly others... please google) offers game controllers that base the onscreen action on your own movements. Both are quite fun, in their own way. To me, the motion-tracking controllers are great fun if you're looking for video games that you can play with a group of people (like bowling, boxing, tennis, etc). The other controllers MAY be less group oriented, but shouldn't be discounted for fun-value. I've played with both styles of controllers, and like them. Currently we've got a PS3, which I use for single-game playing. It narrowly won over the Wii at the store, eventually we may buy the Wii (which means yet another box to add to our TV area). "Sports", etc are just games and optional controllers you can add to your purchase of the box, which generally comes with default options. A Wii will come with one control stick, the "sports" option will add more "joysticks" to your collection. Hi just to be clear, Kinect for the Xbox enables controllerless gaming....so you don't have anything in your hands... :)

i would recommend the Xbox360 with Kinect, which is for controllerless gaming. there are now a number of games that a produced for kids...to get them off the sofa. Would suggest you take a look at their website http://www.xbox.com/en-US/kinect i just bought it and its gret fun, and from all accounts will continue getting better this year, with even more games.... Second the Xbox Kinect - its great for all ages and beats the Wii hands down

A Wii and a Playstation are two different gaming consoles. Wii is from Nintendo and Playstation is from Sony. Wii Sports is a game played using the Wii console. Wii Sports is fun and I'm sure your kids will love it. :-) AND if ever you want to give them Wii Sports, you will have to buy the main Nintendo Wii console and the game CD. You can ask any sales person for this - it is always better to see the things in your own eyes than just reading it here. Hope this helps!

I dunno..let me ask my 3 year old! he seems to know more than me or DH! Seriously, if you get a Wi make sure it is on the PAL system as when we got ours, we got the NTSE (something like that) version sold to us at EMax. Now a year on, and Nintendo decides to change the system to PAL (Don't ask). This means that all the new games being sold, will be on PAL. There is a small icon on the game box that tells you. Also means that I am unable to buy any games that are on the old NTSE system as they don't stock them, or they are rare to get hold of. Either I buy a new Wi console, at 900-1000dhs or upgrade it by at a cost of 400dhs. Either way, I loose out. Also make sure they do not sell you a Japenese version...I always had trouble finding the 'quit' and 'enter' button. One more piece of advice.....make sure you have very DEEP pockets!!! All the best. :)
