OK, London and the South East and Bristol and the South West are out, because of property prices. Oxford very expensive. Nottingham, perhaps? Though currently designated gun capital of the UK, now I think about it.. Manchester, maybe? The North-East - but there are v few jobs there. I think wherever there is proximity to an airport, the nice areas to live will also be expensive, for some value of expensive..
Thinking about it, I would work from where you or your other half or both can find a job, first, unless you are working from home..
