OK, London and the South East and Bristol and the South West are out, because of property prices. Oxford very expensive. Nottingham, perhaps? Though currently designated gun capital of the UK, now I think about it.. Manchester, maybe? The North-East - but there are v few jobs there. I think wherever there is proximity to an airport, the nice areas to live will also be expensive, for some value of expensive.. Thinking about it, I would work from where you or your other half or both can find a job, first, unless you are working from home.. Look at a map of Britain for the airports, then look here to get an idea of property prices: http://www.landreg.gov.uk/houseprices/ Once you find an area you think might be good for you, I'd suggest you post here again and we can tell you if the area you have chosen is likely to be good or bad, if we know!
