Where's the Coke?

I was at Spinneys (Meadows) yesterday for market day and wanted to pick up some regular coke -- nothing there but diet, zero, sprite etc. OK, no problem. Today I needed to pop by Choithram's (Springs) for bread -- no coke as well. I've not been outside the area for quite a few days -- has anyone else had problems at Carrefore or other markets? Just asking!

1.5aed = 0.26GBP 0.31EUR 0.41AUD 0.41CAD 0.41USD 2.75ZAR Source: www.xe.com How much does a can of coke cost where you are from? In Australia we would pay $2 -$2.50 for a cold can at a deli and a regular price (not on special) of up to $1 per can in a large carton at the supermarket.

There is a new ruling which dictates that Coke must be sold at 1.50 per can in retail outlets, and they are also required to print the price on the cans. Came out on 1/1.

Pepsi and coke have put their prices up here due to sugar prices, they have not raised the price of a can in 20 years, about time they did. edited by Jumeriah Jane on 05/01/2011 so does that mean diet coke stays the same price then? No that goes up as well!

I know that there has been rising concern about diabetes and the affects on the population. This might be one of the minor ways of discouraging sweets (ie raising the prices from dirt cheap to cheap). The issue of diabetes will have a heavy social and economic impact on the government if they don't slowly introduce measures to amend certain eating habits. I'd be much happier if they limited the number of candy kiosks to under 1,000 in the malls -- DD is prone to nuclear meltdown if she's tired and refused a chance to pocket a couple of sweets. :\:

800MyCoke They will deliver straight to your door, most of the time the day you call. They have coke products, schwepps products and arwa water. My guy even puts it in the pantry for me. I will never lug liquids home again. That is so great! Coke deliveries instead of carrying the heavy bottles. :) thanks for that!

This happens every couple of years and is usually followed by all kinds of rumours. It'll sort itself out soon enough, don't worry.l

Carrefours stocks were low like you said. However, I noticed tonight that the price has gone up now to 9dhs for a 6pkt and 1.50 for a can. Is this a recent increase?

Thanks ladies. I was at the Choithram's in the Springs -- they were out this evening. Managed to find some single cans in the cooler but, being a coke addict -- it is going to be a rough week if I can't find a supply. So sad -- I know. But, trust me, I will be **** to live with if the stocks don't come in soon.

I got coke at the small Spinneys on Meadows yesterday and saw some in Choitram, Springs today. It was near the counter in Choitram though and not with the other drinks.

I think there's a supply chain issue as Carrefour didn't have any diet Coke at the weekend and I noticed that the shelves were quite empty in that aisle.

I think because of the snow across the UK and Europe we could probably have to wait longer than normal when supplies run out here. :)
