Ladies - any tips please on how to make white bed linen white again? Ours has lost it's sparkle and I'm loathed to chuck the lot out and start again when it's barely a year old!

TIA :-)

Thank you ladies .... I darted off to the supermarket before any replies and am now in a possession of a bottle of Ultimate Care Bleach Powerful Whitening Clorex - apparently gentle on fabric (never previously heard of such a product!). So I'll give that a go after reading the instructions carefully. If it goes t!ts up then I'll just have to replace - they are only Ikea afterall but wanted to at least try to bring some life back to them!! As for the dishdash method - hehehehehe - I suspect professional expensive cleaning every wash!! ;-) But yes I'd LOVE to know how they stay so pristine!! Too bl**dy late to put any washing on now tho..... is it wineoclock yet?? :)

I had the same problem and heard and read on here many people say add some bleach to the rinse. Did just that with the special chlorox clothes bleach only to have some very expensive bedding come out of the machine with yellow splotches on it. I THEN read the instructions on the bedding which said DO NOT BLEACH (note to self always read instructions first) I then very bravely tried it with some white sheets that did not have that instruction and they came out sparkling white. So you could try that but read the instructions first! ;) edited by Genie on 23/01/2011

Forget what they're called but i use the sachets of "whitener" in the washing machine - most places sell them. You could also ask any local friends how they keep their dish-dashes so white !!
