Are you sure AS? I have seen several job postings saying that the candidate must be on their own visa (ie sponsored by DH). So if this is a hire requirement, they might say you are no longer eligible for the position? Yes an employee can be on their own visa (sponsor by father or DH is usually the term), BUT if the company will be the sponsor (which is my understanding from the op) they have to pay for the visa... You can't ask the company to pay for your visa if you'll remain with another sponsor as it is the sponsors responsibility. OP says "sadly no, they knew they had to sponsor me" which is what I based my reply on....

Thank you They Have to pay for the visa whether or not you're a local hire, but they can choose not to pay you accommodation, furniture allowance/relocation allowance and tickets if you're a local hire... Health Insurance and Visa is a must.

If they sponsor you they have to pay for residence visa and all employment costs. If your are local hire not under their sponsorship you do.

I think they should pay - if they are getting you as a local hire then they are getting a good deal anyway...... did they think you were on your husbands residency - if they did then perhaps that's going to be a problem for them which is why they are saying you have to apply. can you not stay on your DH residency and work with a noc from your DH?
