Does anyone have experience of neighbours dog barking relentlessly for hours on end? Who do we report this problem to, it has become a real nuisance, neighbours go out for hours on end and leave their dog which does not stop barking continuosly and it's so loud! Last time it was 8 hours of pure barking, so far this evening 4 hours and no sign of stopping. What to do?

We live in Savannah, Arabian Ranches and one villa leaves 3 dogs in their garden for hours on end. The owners are at home and I guess just don't hear the constant barking as soon as anyone walks by. If we sit in our garden, day or night, all we hear is incessant barking. When we go to bed, it comes through our walls. We have reported it to Security who don't seem to be able to a thing about it. It drives us mad. I think this is the same people who allow their dogs to foul the pavements. I see them walking the dogs, never see any poo bags, but haven't quite caught them at it yet - but I will. I asked their houseboy whilst walking the dogs one day if he had any poo bags, and showed him mine, but he just acted stupid - so I guess that means no, he doesn't carry them. The pavements are clear, you see them walking their dogs, and then there is a mess afterwards, just don't actually see them fouling the pavement. Live in AR as well. We wrote to Emaar, there is a link on their frontpage (wecare) where you can write suggestions or complaints to them. They visited the barking dogs house right away. I think they did it several times, because a lot was complaining. After some time it stopped :-)

Have you spoken to your neighbour about the problem. I can only speak personally as a dog owner and to be honest if my dogs were barking when I was away, well I wouldn't know unless someone told me :(. On the other hand I would never ever leave my dogs for 8 hours on their own - its just far too long. I sympathise with your predicament, constant barking is just awful to put up with. I agree...it's only fair to give the neighbours a chance. If they're not there and haven't been told then it's only fair to give them a chance to fix the problem. If however you tell them, they know and don't care then it's time to take further action. I feel for you, and for the poor dogs. Content dogs don't bark for long periods. :(

ha! No are you having the same problem? We are in the springs, have told security who promptly sent someone round who proceeded to tell me the neighbours were out....thanks! Talk to the neighbors first, if my dogs were barking constantly Id rather the neighbor told me first then reporting it, as its not really fair just report without speaking to the person.

Your course of action depends on whether or not you want to upset your neighbours. Our DD had a problem with a cockrel starting up at 4 a.m. from a villa in the next road. It was set free at that time and left to roam. She didn't know the people, telephoned the police who visited the owner, served a notice on him and the matter was sorted. If that doesn't do the trick, then you would have to telephone the municipality.

If it was my dog, I'd want you to report it to me! We leave our dog outside for a couple of hours in the evening if we go out. I don't think she barks - she isn't a barker by nature, but I do wonder if she barks or whines when we aren't there. So I would want to know.

Which Springs are you in? Our boys were just barking outside but we had a poo situation to clear up inside so we had to shut them out for a little while. Hope it wasn't them disturbing you! :\:

Yes! Not at the moment but usually all night long. Even for hours on end in the afternoon. It must be too hot for dogs now; I feel bad for the animal
