lots of cuddles on the sofa for the both of you. If you have a sling or something, rig that up.
Opinions are divided as to intervention. I'm of the minimal intervention camp so have never tried nasal aspirators, salt water flushes (wtf?!) and am not a great fan of medication (not allowed for under 2 months olds anyhow)... and my two have been just fine. Just keep a damp muslin cloth or wet-wipe handy to clean up any snot (or your shoulder will do just fine!)!
They've actually both got a cold today too!
Does the baby have a stuffed nose ?
This should help !!! I do the same for my bub's
1) Rub some vicks on baby's clothes ( not directly on the skin )
2) Leave a humidifier running in the room .
3) When you take the baby for a shower - steam the washroom and sit with the baby in it for few minutes this will open his nasal passage. use Apisal ( saline drops ) this clear's the nasal passage. Do this before every feed.
This should certainly help.
