I've tried mashed banana when I put it in her mouth, she sticks her tongue out and it all comes out. She'll cry and stretch out her back. I've also tried carrot and zucchini pureed and does the same thing. Does this mean she's not ready for solids? Should I just continue breastfeeding and not offer any solids? She loves to grab things in sight. Should I try steamed broccoli and let her feed herself or just wait?

if she is pushing foods out with her tongue she probably still has the tongue-thrust reflex and isn't physically ready yet. I would stop for a few weeks and just let her play with food in her hands etc. Otherwise you run the risk of her forming a negative association with food which could last a really long time and be a nightmare for you both. Introduction to solids should be fun for your baby, not scary and unpleasant. Kiwispiers u always have such great advices :-) Lulee i heard from dr delphine as well that if baby is not taking solids well then just keep few steamed veggies or banana in front of her. Let her feel it and play with it. I also heard that if you eat the same thing in front of her she may react better to it
