I actually think the neck would be safer, it's more likely to come off the ankle and could work its way out of the sleeping bag and be a choking hazard.

oh and just to add i started wrapping it around his ankle for sleep time, but would alwyas find it kicked off in the sleeping bag as he moves a lot in his sleep!

both DS have one, with the younger one i used to leave it on for his day sleeps and take it off at night, but i stopped doing that a while ago and he now wears it continuously, inc bath (he is nearly 13 mths) not sure if it works or not, but we never seem to have any probs with teething, just a lot of dribble!!

When I had a sore throat I put it around my neck, didn't help at all :(, I think its a bit of a rabbits foot but when our babies are in pain we'll give anything a go ;), needless to say I haven't binned it just yet.

In my incredibly non-scientific research on one wee bubba, I swear it works!! First two teeth the necklace had gone MIA thanks to big sister and Charlotte suffered terribly with all of the textbook symptoms. Next round of teething the necklace was back in place and she got four teeth in a few days with significantly less suffering. I like to think it was the necklace. :D

yeah I've left ours on... I had concerns at the start but after doing a bit of research and finding out if other friends left theirs on we decided to leave his on too... I don't really know that it works... still debating this. Dr laughed at me when he saw it on DS last week. ha ha ha. The part that joins it together if there is too hard pressure on it, it should just snap.

Hi meals! :D The one we were given for Charlotte also said not to let her sleep in it. I pinned my hopes on it helping her so when she was tiny I used to wrap it loosely around her ankle, inside her sleep-suit. :) She's 18 months now and wears it 24 hours a day. I regularly take it off check that it's all strong and intact.

They say on the packet that you are not supposed to let them sleep with them on. Can't see the harm in bathing, you are there all along obviously. I also can't see how they could possibly work but have to admit to putting one on my son when his teething was bad, not that I saw a difference.
