Hi Ladies, this is my first post on the forum! Congratulations to all of you! I too am expecting my 1st at the end of August...I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow :) I'm not letting myself get too excited just yet, I think once I've had the 12 week scan I'll feel more confident about the whole thing. I seem to have had all of the symptoms, my boobs started getting bigger almost immediately, fatigue and food aversions kicked in from week 4 and MS from 6 weeks although I feel this week my symptoms have subsided a little - has anyone else had this? As much as I don't like feeling sick and tired all the time it's kind of reassuring when you can feel "something" going on!!! My worry at the moment is where to go for my antenatal appointments. Unfortunately I don't have insurance so I'm looking at packages - I live in the Marina and there seems to be nothing decent nearby (I've had two appointments at Lifeline and will definitely not be returning to them!). Is anyone else in the same boat? What packages have you looked at? P.S. DXB19 - I'm dreading summer already!!!

Congratulations Green-ish! you are very brave indeed. I'd love to go down the 4 kids route but I'm not sure i can physically and emotionally cope with another first trimester. .I'm finding it so hard and am not exaggerating when i say i have the blues. am not excited (yet) about it all but i do know that once baby is out it will be totally different (this is my second). Here's hoping for some relief in next few weeks. Where are you living now? Are you missing Dubai or chapter over and happy to have moved on? edited by London_Chiquita on 16/01/2012

Congratulations to you all...I'm also due at the start of August so about 9 weeks now. Zeynab to answer question re MS as you've probably heard every woman is different and every pregnancy different but to give you an idea (this is not my first) my MS started at about 6 and half weeks. It started as a queasy feeling for a few days no specific time then queasiness all day and now nausea all day. Nausea in first pregnancy for me was super tough maybe because such a shock to the system? Maybe because i was working full time? Who knows this time whilst still tough i just have to get on with it as have a LO to run around after so no chance to feel sorry for myself but its hard! One thing i do notice is nausea is much, much worse when I'm tired so try and steal some sleep whenever you can it may help. Then again you could be one of the lucky ones to escape this fun!

I personally would wait until 12 weeks to see the doc unless you have any major concerns. I wanted to wait til 12 weeks this time to meet the doc but she is going on vacation so I had to go and see her early so that I could get referred for the NT scan on time. They weighed me, took BP, did a quick scan to confirm there is a baby there and then told me to come back when I am 12 weeks and they will start the ball rolling. I wass 11+3 when I had this appointment! and paid AED700+ for them to just tell me 'yes, you are pregnant'.

Hi, Found out 10 days back that we are expecting our second baby and the due date would be around mid Aug. Were very tensed last week as the scan did not show anything, but guess it was too early to see anything. Went back yest and felt awesome to see the sac with the baby attached and the heart beating. Similar to the last time we are seeing Dr. Jaimala Shukla who has now moved from EDC ( Welcare ) to Unicare @Burjuman. You can read about her on the forums here and everyone seems to be pretty happy with her. I think it is important to feel comfortable with your doctor and she is extremely pleasant to deal with. Last time I delivered at Medcare with Dr Luthra and although I was very happy with the facilities and staff of Medcare, I do not wish to go back to Dr. Luthra. Hence looking for options- Dr Jaimala suggested Dr Rajalaxmi at American Hospital and I need to check if my insurance would cover it.

Hi Zanab, we too are due in August. We found out we were pregnant just before travelling to the UK for a vacation. So we are looking at registering with an obs / gyn early next week. My insurance company will cover me at City Hospital or MedCare. I have just posted a thread here to ask other people's advise. We will be first time parents so are confused!! When do you have your first app? The GP advised me to visit at 7-8 weeks, I am now 7 weeks so hopefully next week we can see someone. Will be good to share thoughts.
