After being inspired by the reusable Nappy discussion on the Forum, I decided to purchase BabyCheeks. My DS is now 25 days old and my DH and I love the ease and effectiveness of using the Nappy.
Although my Mum, thinks that its too Bulky for a newborn and might have an effect on his legs- I use 2 inserts based on his absorbency requirement, this pushes his legs a bit wide part. Mum's worried that it might have a long term effect on his legs.
Is my mum right?
Appreciate your help
;)

Hi girls. Congratulations on going for cloth nappies!! :D Don't worry about the relative bulk of cloth. Most of us grew up in far more bulky terry-towelling squares, and we're all right. ;) It's actually more supportive to have their little hips supported and the legs splayed out froggy style. :) Babies that have "clicky hips" (developmental dysplasia) are kept in a splint with their legs splayed for up to 12 weeks. The splint keeps their hips in the correct, 'froggy' position until they are better developed. If your little ones like chewing on their toes, remember it's also a good idea to give them lots of nappy-free time. take the nappies off and lie them on something absorbent or waterproof.

Hi BumpSmitten, I am afraid I cant be of much help but I do share the same concerns. My DS is 5 1/2 months now, and I have noticed that he is not as flexible with the nappy as with the diaper. He loves to eat his toes while playing, but with nappy on he can barely reach them. Also, he can't turn to his side with the nappy on. Now, I remove his nappies at playtime which means extra laundry for me but what the heck atleast he can be free. I keep wondering if there is something wrong i am doing. I use itti bitti, bonnibuns and cushie tushie, but its the same with everything :-(. Cant stop kicking myself for missing the Nappycino morning. DS had shots that time and was down with fever :-(
