I'm looking into buying a baby monitor with a camera. Has anyone bought a monitor like this? I'd love to know if you think the camera/video option is worthwhile and even more importantly, does it work here where the walls are made of very thick concrete?

TIA!!

We have the Motorola MBP36 and we're very happy with it. Reception is very good and we live in a vila. All monitors will have trouble with some spots, for instance if there are a lot of metal surfaces in the way or a lot of appliances, that can't be helped, you just have to move it around a bit till you find a spot with good reception. We bought it on amazon uk, great prices and 2 day delivery.

Hiya-we were concerned about exactly the same thing, with thick walls in the villa here I don't know how well the video baby monitors would work as we struggle getting the wireless around the house. After research (we didn't try any) we thought it best to buy the ibaby because it works on the wireless network and can be viewed by anyone (given permission) on the Internet pc or iPad/iPhone. It's especially good for us as my husband travels with the job so he can see baby while he's away and both our families live abroad so they get a peek too. Downside I'll probably end up with family skyping me when baby starts snuffling, urgh-hehee;) we have sort of tried it, will get hubby to retry and let ya know if it works? Max

I have one of these, I was really happy I bought it. its a tommy one (I think that's what its called). I live in the springs, it works well from downstairs and also in the garden up to dd's room. makes me feel so much better to be able to see her as well as hear her. sometimes saves you running up there if you hear a noise and wonder what it is, you can see if they are still asleep, or sat up, standing up, whatever. def worth buying.
