baby not taking his solids anymore
Hello all...Happy New Year!
My DS is 9 months old and I started feeding him solids from 6 months. He was great had 3 meals a day, brekky, lunch and dinner. I made a variety of foods including all fruits, veg, meat and lentils and pureed it. He loved it all until now!! He's teething could that be the problem? 2 teeth came through about 3 weeks ago. So since 2 weeks ago he won't have any breakfast, sometimes he will have his lunch and at dinner he just wants to pick at food, he's not even interested in yogurt anymore which was his fav thing to eat.
He's taking his milk thougth and drinks 8oz during the night as well which he stopped doing when he was eating but is now crying at night for a feed (obvioulsy because he is'nt getting enough in him during the day as he used too)
I'm really worried although he has'nt lost any weight - he's a small baby compared to others his age (was only 2.66kg at birth), but the pead did say he should be putting a bit more weight on then he has.
After reading the baby lead weaning thread I DO feel a bit better though as many of you have said that up until they are 12 months old they are ok with just milk and a bit of food. I guess I'm worrying because he was such a good eater before!
Should I be going down the BLW road then? and just putting food in front of him and letting him choice what and how much he wants to eat?
I would'nt even know where to start with BLW so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
And does anyone know how much milk on average a child needs to stay healthy? I have googled it and it doesnt come up with much info. I know it would be difficult to say as children are differents weights etc at different ages but I did read somewhere once that an average child between 6 and 10 months old can still be/stay healthy with 16oz of milk per 24 hrs as the BARE minimum. My son is taking around anywhere between 20/24oz per 24 hrs usually without any food.
Sorry for the long post! :)
Can you tell I'm a first time mum with no experience? lol
