Baby Poop Concerns....

My DD is going to be 5 months and she poops once in 4-5 days. Her doc reassured several times its perfectly normal for exclusively breastfed babies to poo once in a week or so. But I feel she is getting cranky if poop doesn't come out in 3-4 days. And at this time around she cries and doesn't stop that easily. She is otherwise a very happy baby. Is this just my feeling?

Don't worry about it :) my daughter was exact same way when she was 5 months, actually it would have been a miracle if she pooed every 5 days instead she poohed twice a month!!! My doctor was only concerned if she lasted 20 days without poohing. She was like that until she turned 8 months when she ate more solids.

Haha explosion already happened today. But I've been noticing this for quite sometime. Shes being cranky a day or two before the explosion day and looks very happy afterwards. Maybe I'm simply relating both.

Yes, it's just your feeling. It is perfectly normal for a breastfed baby to go for a long period of time without pooping. One time, my DD went 10 days without pooping! It makes life much easier and I consider it one of the numerous advantages to breastfeeding. However, my DS pooped every single day so it is not true for all breastfed children. Enjoy it while it lasts and pack lots of spare clothes if you go out often with her because some explosions are coming!
