Sorry ladies I know this was discussed before but I cant find the thread. I must send DH out tonight to buy the correct baby washing powder so I can wash all of DS's new clothes before his big arrival.

I have no idea what were supposed to be buying as I havent seen here any specific washing up powder for babies. Can you please advise? Thanks!

Purex Free & Clear at either Co-op or C4. I've used this for modern cloth nappies and infant laundry. No dye, no fragrance.

Ideally should be 'non-bio' for bubba's sensitive skin. But doesn't matter re: brand, although I always try to buy the more environmentally responsible brands such as Ecover or Earths Choice.

Anything labelled non scented, and non bio should be fine. I use modern cloth nappies and use easy non bio for those and the whole familys clothes. It's cheap and we've never had a problem :)

everything is available in c4. You can go for earth's choice or for eco balls from organics, dubai mall, if you are to much concerned. Purex baby i use for other delicate clothes too.

you don't need a special baby washing liquid (in fact most of the ones that are labelled "for babies" are heavily scented, which isn't really what you want for a newborns sensitive skin). We use the carrefour non perfumed non bio liquid and no softeners, for the whole family.

You can buy Purex from the Safa Union Coop. It's in the same aisle as the detergents, but farther down, closer to the softeners. There is also another brand for babies called Purity.

i have been using Purex baby since last 2 yrs. It's a liquid degergent, there are some other bio degergents from ariel and other brands are also available. edited by presam12 on 22/07/2012
