first time i was pregnant in the UK i remember my doctor taking blood, I have now been for two ante natal appointments and have not had any taken, just the usual weight and scan. Is my doc missing something?

How many weeks pregnant are you? My midwife here did not even want to see me until 12 weeks, so I had not tests prior to this. I guess procedure depends on which hospital.

I thought it was required, will remind the Doc, I just expect her to do the right thing and not have to ask for it..

I had 2 appointments one at 4 weeks with my GP, and then for the 8 week I went to the Gyn, both doctors ordered lots of blood and urine tests. I think these tests are important because they check if you have anemia, or rubeola, etc. During my second urine test, they found an infection, so I would ask the doctor to do it!, better safe that sorry. After that, I havent had any other test. For my friend she has an appointment every 2-3 weeks and they always do blood, urine exams, a bit exagerated but I am just giving an example. I think you are supposed to have one set at the beginning, and another one at 26 weeks? for diabetes.

I've never had any blood tests in the UK or here, apart from the Triple Test at 16 weeks.
