Hi ladies

I am in between renting out a hospital grade pump or getting a new Medela one on sale from babyshop. I had major supply issues with my first but this time really want to try breast feed as much as possible.

Am worried I will invest in buying a new one and face the same milk supply issues as before and end up not using it!

Has any one rented out a pump in Dubai? What's been your experience? Is it expensive?

TIA

I know this thread is outdated, but if anyone is still looking for a hospital grade pump, I am renting out the new Medela Symphony 2.0 (top of the line, barely used and with brand new pump parts/starter kit). If you are interested, feel free to contact me at [email protected] or 052-8496916. Thanks!

Thanks ladies. It's because I will need to return to work and build up supply. I also tried the links but no luck. Think it's off to babyshop then!

Hi, I have tried pretty hard to look for breast pumps to rent in Dubai but all numbers, e-mails and services I found on line no longer exist. I am attending a breastfeeding workshop soon and will post if any further renting options are mentioned but I hit dead ends. The prices quoted from previous links added up quickly (about 60AED per week) so when I saw pumps on sale at Baby shop I just decided to buy one as have been deliberating for weeks!

Sorry, dont have advice on buying vs renting, I guess it depends on your budget and the type of pump you would like to use & how often you plan to pump, but - Are you looking to pump because you will not be around your little one to breast feed? Or just to build up a stock of breast milk, so dad may feed, etc? If its the latter, you should wait until at least 4 weeks to start pumping, to allow your milk supply to establish properly. This will also give you time to see if your supply is sufficient and in need of a pump.
