City Hospital. Can't book in with the two doctors I was recommended. Any recommendations/advice?

I am due to give birth August 21st with my third child (First set are twins, 26 months). I was wanting to book in with Dr Gaby but he is on holiday and Dr Elsa is booked up until November!

Any advice/recommendations? They rang me and tentatively booked me in with a Swedish doctor, Dr Brit but when I got the email confirmation I saw that they booked it a month later than we had discussed (After my due date). We arrive in Dubai on the 20th of July and I will be almost 36 weeks.

Hi JPS1 Dr Purnima Deb is very nice and she will take time to talk to you regarding any of your concerns. I met with her last year at Al Wasl hospital so can only give feedback from what I saw of her there. She's from India but spent time and qualified at Walgrave Hospital back in Coventry, UK. I only saw her for one appointment at about 37 weeks (I didn't make the next one scheduled for 2 weeks later as bubs had other ideas and decided to come early) but she seemed more than capable and definitelt puts you at ease. I can only assume she has moved from Al Wasl to City Hospital. Good luck!

Dr Sant from Primavera clinic was great with us. She is Maltese and located in building 64 in HCC. Very close to city. She'll deliver anywhere, but recommends city hospital for various reasons. Good luck :) I can't second Dr. Sant enough. She is fantastic!

Dr. Britt is really lovely at City Hospital, as is Dr George at Nine Medical Centre. Good luck & HTH! Just wanted to forewarn you about costs & to make sure your insurance covers it? Maternity care, especially if it culminates in a cesarian section is an expensive business here in Dubai! <em>edited by champagneblonde on 13/07/2012</em>

Hi JPS1, I delivered with Dr. George Michailidis at City hospital and I cannot say enough good things about him. I highly recommend him and wouldn't think twice about delivering with him the next time no matter which hospital he works at. My experience at City was great too, the midwives are very sweet and helpful. Good luck to you!

Hello JPS1, don't despair! If they can't fix your appointment with Dr. Britt there are plenty of doctors from outside clinics who have delivery rights at City and who could assist you. City might even have a list they could share with you, though you might need to get lucky and talk to the right person to get that. I will not be delivering in Dubai but both doctors at the clinic I go to deliver at City and the clinic is a block away from the hospital. It's called N9NE medical and the doctors are Dr George and Dr Amir-I've read many positive comments about both but as I said I won't be delivering here so I can't be any more informative at this point. Another way to find out would be to call the well known clinics and ask then if any of their OBGyns deliver at City and take it from there. Best of luck!

I delivered with Dr. britt and I highly recommend her. I think if they made a mistake with your booking with Dr. Britt, then you should ask them to change it, it is your right!

Hi there, i can absolutely recommend dr hibba, she delivered my two boys, one at the American hospital and my youngest ds at city hospital last year, she is based at the dr sulaiman al habib clinic in healthcare city and now delivers only ay city hospital, good luck :) I was very happy with Dr. Hiba Al Muhtasib as well (Sulaiman Habib Clinic), she is very busy though so I don't know if you will get an appointment for anytime soon, but it's fine once you go once. She didn't actually deliver my baby as I gave birth in the UK, but I would have happily continued with her had I delivered here.
