Hi ladies,
Hoping for some advice! We are going to visit family in the UK this summer and are also planning a few weekend getaways locally this year so we're thinking of buying a good travel cot for our 9 month old DS. Alot of the ones I've seen have really thin mattresses that look quite uncomfortable. DS is a great sleeper these days but used to be pretty bad so want to make sure we get something really comfy for him. Anyone have any suggestions? thank you! :)

Hi We recently arrived here and out stuff ain't be here for around 6 weeks, including my 14 months old's cot. We went to mothercare and just bought a straightforward travel cot and the mattress and wee one has slept soundly at night and for nap time.

thanks luv yes that is the type I was thinking - just wondering if a particular brand was recommended. We thought we'd buy one to take to the UK as DH's mum doesn't have a cot so we thought if he got used to it we could then take it away on hols too. When we went to the Meridien in Fujeirah they had a horrible metal type cot which he didn't sleep well in at all. An extra mattress sounds a good idea too :)

Hey lov, with all the different places we've stayed with DD these have always been the travel cots on offer. http://www.myshopping.com.au/PT--178_Baby_Gear_Baby_Travel_Cots__fs_17110_e__ DD has never had an issue sleeping in these and they've all been comfy as she's slept well in them. Hotels usually have an extra mattress inside it, however if you're staying at friend's houses then you may have to invest in an extra mattress for it. I don't know how these types of cots travel in terms of weight etc, but they have been great every time DD has needed to sleep in them. HTH

on their own? I'd be too afraid to leave him on his own and don't want to get in the habit of sleeping with him for the entire month we're in the UK...
