Anyone else going or gone through this? I have been put on bed rest for the next 6 weeks, to make sure the baby stays inside till 36 weeks and I don't go into preterm labor. Any tips on how to get by? I am not sure I like this situation so much, would appreciate someone's positive experience.

Hi As hard as it is to be on bed rest it's worse having a pre term baby and seeing them go through NICU. Keep yourself busy with books, movies, or start a new sitcom. There is an active bed rest group on babycenter? Good luck and I wish you a safe and full term delivery.

First of all, try to remove as much stress from your mind as possible. So, don't dwell on the risks, etc while you have nothing to do. Instead, get a dozen excellent books, start a series on TV, start an online blog or journal, organize your DVDs or pictures ... you get the idea! I was on bedrest for 4 weeks due to blood pressure and besides minimizing your stress, it is important to have a rountine for the day that makes you feel like you accomplished something. Get dressed everyday - staying in PJs, while comfy, can be depressing. Communicate with your husband about how you are feeling and try to have people come visit (or Skype) to lift your spirits. Good luck and I hope you have an easy and safe delivery!
