Congrats, Duddym! The good thing is that the nausea will be over soon, fingers crossed! I am seeing Dr. Jozsa and he is a dream. He delivers at City Hospital, but I live near AR so I've been looking for closer facilities. Turns out the new Al Zahra Hospital on SZR near Saudi German has great care (including water births, which intrigues me). So I'm at a crossroads whether to stick with Dr. J or switch to someone at Al Zahra.
Hi December mummies, I'm due very end if November but suspect I will fall into the December camp. Very excited! This is my second I had my first had city, what doc is everyone using as I am considering a change? I feel utterly dreadful with morning sickness, cannot wait for the next few weeks to be over, definitely worse than my first pregnancy!
Ugh, that's the worst! I've been nonstop nauseated for the past two weeks, but have only thrown up twice (and that was when I was brushing my teeth ... the mint, the toothbrush on the tongue, what a nightmare!). I haven't told anyone at work about the pregnancy yet, but all I want to do is go and lie down all afternoon to answer emails and take calls. I think I could be a more effective worker that way. :) I also have food aversions to mostly everything except refined carbs. I think I'm "showing" already just because of my bread and cracker intake. Regardless, I wouldn't change it for the world. And my husband is just as giddy as I am, even though he's the one having to run the whole show by himself while I lay on the couch and complain about my stomach all night.
Eeeeeekk! It's so exciting! Thanks for all the info. I will have a search through the threads and see what hospitals I could pop on my short list. How are you doing with any pregnancy symptoms littlelou? With my first I had the worst sickness, I didn't really feel the nausea but I would throw up very unexpectedly and in the most embarrassing of circumstances! I know it's only early into the pregnancy but I've thrown up one today and won't be surprised if this last the whole time as it did with #1.
I've been researching Dubai childbirth and nannies ever since we got the positive HPT. We are expecting a lot sooner than we thought and we don't have maternity insurance. You will be fine if you have insurance. But even without, there are great packages at each hospital and all the hospitals in Dubai seem to be very transparent with their maternity pricing on their websites. There are also NUMEROUS threads about hospitals, pricing, and pros/cons of the care at each facility. Also check on your Embassy's website to see how to register the birth and get passport/visa squared away with your home country.
I would also recommend checking www.dubaidoulas.com for info. We don't have family in this part of the world and it's been a comfort to know that there are services in place to get you through childbirth. I know we still have almost 8 months to go, but I'm so excited to figure this all out.
Wooohoooo to all of us ladies growing babies! I'm so excited! We've waited to for what has felt like eternity but thankfully I've had my first little princess to distract me and command all my waking hours!
Now to find out how to have a baby here in Dubai -I have no idea!
Congrats!!
We are expecting our first, but not in December... A november baby! Very excited. Still havent told anyone yet - waiting for the Downs test to come back all ok and then will shout it from teh tops.
finding it so hard to keep a secret, even feel im hiding stuff from my mom so keep avoiding long calls with her!! Roll on 2 weeks and i can tell... :)
Congratulations! We are expecting our first in early December and we are so ecstatic. We have only told our parents and siblings and the secret is killing me. Glad to finally be able to "publicly" celebrate! :)
Hi everyone. I've just found out I'm pregnant with #2 after 22months of trying to conceive. Happy happy times! Just wondered if anyone else is due in December?
