Im due in 5 weeks and had a problem before xmas and was admitted for 3 days so .... i'll second that the food in AH is VILE, i would say its on a par with the NHS, i couldn't identify most of it , lol! and im not fussy! and the coffee was inedible, but the coffee shop below delivers so worth remembering. Also i was same i had to have a drip and my arms were black as they couldn't get it in BUT i have very fine veins and have this at every hospital iv'e ever been to, in the end at AH the anesthetist had to do it, but the staff were great and very attentive, i never had to wait for anything, i can only say good things about the hospital and i suppose if the food is the worst point i can make they are not doing bad!

El1 - I gave birth at American Hospital in Nov and it was great. The only issues I had were a) food was awful and b) when the midwife put the drip in my hand she was really rough ... it almost hurt more than childbirth! 10 days afterwards I still had bad bruising on my hand. Thankfully she was only looking after me for a while but all the other midwives etc were great. Good luck to all the January babies!

Just had my 39 week check. All looking good. DS approximately 3.2kgs and my Dr. wants him out by due date so he doesn't keep growing since I'm having so much trouble with pinched nerves etc. Can't believe due date is finally a week away!!!
