Congrats Redrec Tangle, delighted to hear it! Good lick M, not long now til you have your bundle. Well my little angel arrived safely on June 15th. I was brought in to be induced on my due date (the 14th) and like my DD before this DD decided to take her time to make her way into the world ... unfortunately it meant in the end she went into fetal distress and I was whisked off for an Emergency C Section. All very traumatic in the end but thankfully we are both fine and she is just gorgeous. We have named her Keelin Eve and she weighed in at 3.56 kgs (think thats about 7lbs 12 oz). She is a week old today and my pain is easing day by day so its all good. My other DD (20 months) loves her new sister and there are lots of kisses being bestowed on her. Hope you are all well and enjoying your babies and best of luck to those near the end now. Curly Wonderful news, congrats Curly! I'm due on Sat and so far have had nausea, bowel movements and the baby has been very active but nothing to indicate labour. Am seeing the doctor on Sunday to discuss next steps! All the best ladies!

Super exciting time for all of us! My first baby is due this Saturday. Am finishing work on Tuesday and mum is arriving on Thursday. Hope the bub arrives before the public holiday on the 30th so that my hubby can enjoy an additional day with the bub to add to his generous three days of paternity leave!

Hi June mums! Hope you are all well. Hard to believe Thomas is already 3 weeks old today! Apart from struggling a bit with bf things are going well, he just almost seems hungry so I can't keep up. We gave had to use formula a few times to settle him but then the poor little guy struggles with wind. Curlyob and starsouthern been thinking if you and hope your births go or did go well! X

Hi starsouthern Just wanted to let you know that my dr estimated that our baby would be really big, our first baby was 4.13kg so I expected a big boy. The 36 week scan estimated him at 3.8kg and so I expected on my c-section date that I would have an over 4kg baby boy. He was born 12 days before my due date and was only 3.53kg. My dr said that as his head was measuring big the machine averaged all the measurements and estimated him as a lot bigger than what he was. I hope you have a very easy birth :) Congrats Alimart! Another great name! Hope my little man is heavy and doesn't have a massive head ;) all the best with your bundle of joy. Goog luck to everyone else, D day nearly here!

Congrats Alimart, fantastic news, so glad everything went well for you and baby Thomas Iain (another great name).I had been wondering about you lately knowing you were due to go in on the 1st for the section. I'm sure it was surreal seeing it was so different to first time around. At least this time you didn't have to go through all the labour to end up being sectioned in the end anyway - can imagine that being exhausting and stressful. Thats interesting what you say about DD, I have no idea how my DD will react when the baby in my belly becomes a reality for her. So far she is loving and kissing my belly but who knows what the reaction will be with the real life baby .... I know your DD and mine are similar in age so thats interesting. Terrible twos we can do without!!!! I am just over a wk off my due date now, due Tues week, had CTG this morn and all is well, not back again til next sunday unless I go myself in the mean time. My mum arrives next weekend so am hoping baba will hold off until she is here so that my DD is looked after and I don't have that added stress of trying to drop her off somewhere or have someone come to our place. COngrats again, enjoy every moment of your little boy, lovely to have the girl and boy too. I can't wait to see what we have, having not found out throughout the pregnancy. Take care Alimart and all other mums to be in June. Curly

Congratulations Suznz, that is great news. I agree with everybody such a lovely name. Our little boy, Thomas Iain, was born on 29 May (my birthday!) weighing 3.53kg and 57cm tall. I was due to have a c-section on 1 June but I saw my dr last Sunday and my blood pressure was way high. He had diagnosed me with pre-eclampsia the week before and I was signed off work. I monitored it for the week and went onto medication but when I went in on Sunday they decided it was best that we bring forward the c-section to that day. I went into City Hospital in the afternoon and was prepared for the op at 6pm. It was quite an unreal experience after going through 17 hour labour last time and then having an emergency c-section. Thomas was born at 6.25pm, all went well and I was back in my room really quickly. The care I got at City was fantastic, the nurses and midwives were so helpful and kept telling me they were there to help me, the lactation consultant helped me with feeding and so far so good. I stayed in for 3 nights although I could have stayed in for longer. I was ready to come home on the Wednesday and get settled in at home. Thomas is a very good baby and is letting me get some sleep at night so I hope this routine continues. His big sister is very good with him, we are just trying to deal with some temper tantrums as she is coming up to the terrible twos!! Hope all the other June mummies are doing well, keep us updated.

Congratulations Suznz!!! How did the induction go? Were you already dilated beforehand? I am tentatively set to be induced on the 9th due to low fluid levels and some preterm labor issues. I'll be about 37 1/2 wks, so conisdered full term, but still nervous! How is everyone else hanging in there? Any due dates coming up? Not long and we'll all have our little ones in our arms!!

My little princess, Emilia Rose, was born at 5.04am on 1st June two weeks early (I had to be induced due to high bp and increasing uric acid, and also thought she was very small). Not the plan I would have liked, but she arrived safe and sound! Went in for a check up of her heart beat (which was fine!) but was not allowed to leave the hospital! She was 2.64kgs, so slight larger than they thought. We are both doing very well except they wanted to do ECG on her heart and it came back with a minor issue which they will repeat tomorrow. We were going to go home today, but thought it was best to stay another night (which was a good choice as as present she is undergoing light therapy for jaundice). She is just beautiful and my husband and I are besotted with her! Hope everyone has a good last few days/weeks x

How's everyone doing? Any babies popped yet? Had my 36 week check yesterday and have been told that baby is already 3.3kgs! My first was 4kg, my second was 3.26kgs. Doc reckons that this one will be max 3.8kgs will he seriously grow another 500grams in the last 4 weeks? I'm massive don't think I could handle another gram more! Anyway hope you're all doing well. xx

Hi MereTX81 I will be delivering at City Hospital on 1 June so will give you an update as soon as I can. I have been for a visit and seems nice, just really big and I hear it can get very busy! Suznz, it sounds like you have had a difficult time, I hope all goes smoothly until the birth of your little girl. Hope the rest of you ladies are well, we are on final countdown now :) Alimart, I am anxious to hear how the birth goes! I was actually in the hospital last night for a few hours with false labor, but dilated to 4cm. So with my history of preterm labor I am now on strict bedrest! I am already 35 wks 4 days, but husband is out of the country until the 1st, so I am hoping and praying this little baby stays put until then! I have to say how impressed I was with the L&D nurses at City. They were amazing and so kind and helpful. Really put my mind to ease and helped me so much. I hope you experience the same. I look forward to really giving birth there as soon as my husband is back home!

Hi Starsouthern, I'm doing well thanks! Just can't wait to meet the little girl behind the bump!! The DVT was in my pelvic area which went down my left leg. It started as a pain (in pelvis and upper leg) which I thought that I had originally pulled a muscle in that area. I rested it for the day but it wasn't getting any better. The next day, I could hardly walk on it and my leg felt dead and numb. Again I kept off it as much as I could and by that evening my DH took me to the hospital. They primarily diagnosed it as a UTI after doing a urine test and started me on a course of antibodics. What we didn't notice (neither myself or the drs) was that my left leg had started to swell. When I got home and got undressed, I noticed that my calf and thigh was twice the size. I've never had a UTI before, but thought these symptons were rather off and extreme for that! Thinking that because I hadn't used it or elevated it much that day, didn't think of the seriousness of it! Kept it up all day, but by the afternoon it had swollen up even more and the pain was unbearable. As soon as my DH had finished work, I made him come straight home and take me back to the hospital. They admitted me with suspected DVT and started treatment that night (in case it was as I didn't the normal, straight-forward symptoms) and it was confirmed the next day via a scan. The DVT went from above my pelvis down to my knee with my lower leg about to attach to the clot, so almost my whole leg. I was admitted for 8 days too make sure that the clot would not move upwards towards the major organs. You would know from the pain and the swelling if you had one! But the care I received at Al Wasl was really good. We were most impressed. And the fact that they booked me in as well, as I was not registered at any hospital to give birth as I was going home the week that all this happened. We had to pay the Dhs5,000 for the antenatal (which we are using now of course!) and have appointments every week or so (either with the specialists or antenatal drs) but things are starting to look better. Babies heartbeat has now corrected itself! So now to concentrate on the birth plan... Hope things are going well for everyone You poor thing, you musr of been terrified! Glad all is good now. I had really good care at Al Wasl too, would've gone back if I could claim back on my insurance but no such luck :( am happy so far with MedCare though and my insurance will cover everything there.

I'm also due on the 14th June and going to deliver at Al Wasl! Was planning to go back to NZ for the delivery but ended up being admitted to Al Wasl with DVT last month (only a few days before I left!) But am actually very happy with the care that I received there. Baby also has an etopic heartbeat, so my seemingly easy pregnancy went from easy to high-risk overnight! This is our first, so not looking forward to the labour... but does anyone?! have had BH since 16 weeks but now I've noticed that they are getting stronger, more intense and frequent. Thought she could come the other night, but luckily the contractions started to ease off later in the night after they were coming all afternoon. Is anyone else as impatient as I am? I want to hurry up and meet this little person... But only another month to go.... Hey susznz just wondering how you're doing? How did you know you had DVT? Good luck with your delivery, I had great care at al wasl 2 years ago when I had my little girl there.

Hi everyone, I am 33 weeks now and found out last week that my cervix is shortening and that baby is very low. He's already in a 38-wk position! So, being that I also have a history of preterm labor, doctor had me do the steroid shots for his lungs and also prescribed me the progesterone suppositories. Now I'm on bedrest and hoping to make it to at least 36wks! I'll be delivering at City Hospital. Anyone else worried about preterm labor or delivering at City Hospital?

Hi ladies! 34 weeks today, is anyone else delivering at Welcare? I'm 32 weeks today, so technically a July mum, but thought I"d mention I delivered at Welcare last time. I had a great birth experience. With the exception of their policy of only one person in the delivery room, I had absolutely no issues at all and a successful delivery, just as I wanted it.

Thanks Curly, yes looks like I will have the first June baby! Did you decide on your double pram? - I know we were discussing this on another thread! We ended up going with the P&T as I was in Bumble Bee and they had 10% off that day so I ended up getting a great deal. Our 19 month old has loved being pushed around in it but not sure how good she is going to be at going in the bottom...! I will keep you all posted and good luck to you all. Hi Alimart, am in a total quandry still about the double buggy. I actually didn't think we could get the P&Ts here so thats interesting. My 19 month old DD does not like being in a buggy ever, always preferring to run around herself or when in the malls she loves those little cars. Of course I don't always give in but at this stage of my pregnancy anything for a quiet life and me to get a bit of shopping done. I dont think she will like sitting in the back of the P&Ts at all. I really don't want to go down the road of forking out a load of cash for a buggy that won't get used to its maximum either. Was thinking of just using the baby bjorn for the baby and the stroller for DD for the first while until I go home with the two in august and then have a look around at home for more reasonably priced options. We'll see. You're lucky to have a bbay that will stay in yours. All the best, I'll let you know if I decide again on the buggy ... Curly
