DXBMummy! Well when I went for a tour there was nobody at the hospital. They are still not busy at all and there was a few rooms occupied. It won't be full for Feb most probably. I hear your concerts with NICU, but there wasn't even a baby there!! ;-) definitely go for a your. You don't regret it! Dr. Yamini is very nice. At the moment they are not doing direct billing to my insurance (SAICO) but I will get full reimbursement from them. So I am getting the antenatal package next visit (20 weeks) and get the reimbursement for that and I'm good until delivery day with all visits and scans. Then I will get the 2 or 3 day normal delivery package and hopefully by that time they have direct billing, if not then well do that. If it turns out to be c section or stay extra days then you just pay the difference. I am also thinking about getting the VIP room that is an extra 1,550 AED a night, it's huge, amazing and perfect for the visitors I will be having!! The VIP room will be the only thing my instance won't cover. But compared to US prices for child birth the prices are so cheap to me. The regular rooms are amazing BTW, just that the VIP has a separate room as sitting area and more privacy for the mom and baby even when there are visitors. ;-)

I was wearing a dress that looks like a stick of rock (long maxi striped dress). Is anyone going to the coffee morning at Costa, Dubai Mall this Monday at 10 - 12?? Hi Everyone. Wow, serves me right for being away for a week, so much to catch up on! Great to see there's such a big group of us now. Amazing how one week in the UK not exercising and eating out too much has made me go pop - struggled to find anything to wear for work today! Ok, will be going to the marina coffee morning on Thursday - can anyone else come? No idea what i'll be wearing (!!) - are we not able top write names on here?! yaya5 I also do triathalons (found out I was pregnant the day before I was due to compete to try to qualify for the world champs - was a bit of a shock! Just back from watching my team mates compete - and don't tell me the elite results, trying not to find out until we watch the race!). I'm still training with my coach although obviously at a lower intensity. I also met with Amy from Urban Energy who gave me a great core routine for the gym - she was lovely and will obviously help with all levels of fitness so I would highly recommend her. Coopers Health Clinic do antenatal classes - they're on one Saturday a month and they do the whole class in one day so can be great for those with busy lives! The midwife who runs them also does private hypnobirthing classes too. Coopers will also soon be starting a breastfeeding class. I'm also on a facebook page too which I think will be really helpful for when baby comes - it's called British Mums Dubai (i'm sure non British can join too). I think you need to be added by someone who is already on it but i'll happily add people once we meet if you're interested. Still up for doing a marina walk if people are still interested? Tues will still work for me but will have to be early as I start work at 8am :( I've heard really great things about Zahara - only pool in Dubai apparently. Hope you're all still feeling well and congrats to those who have found out the *** (we're planning on leaving it as a surprise if we can hold out!). Hopefully speak or meet soon.

Hello Elderflower! Thanks on the congrats. Congrats to you too! I have heard good things about the maxi-cosi pebble - will now look up the bugaboo chameleon too. Sounds very practical too. Maternity clothes seem more difficult to find here, I have just ordered some fabulous maternity clothes from ASOS in the UK (and they were in the sale - bonus!). My husband is bringing them back from the UK. I would also like to hear where you can get nice maternity clothes from - I looked in Mothercare and a couple of other shops and it was just too mumsy for me :-( Hi torjetaylor! I will arrive for 10am tomorrow (probably 5 mins before). Okay I will look out for you, I will be wearing a nude/caramel fitted maxi-dress. Hopefully see you there! x

Hi Dubaibambino - congrats on your first pregnancy! we used a maxi cosi pebble car seat for LO with the family fix base and loved it, I would definitely recommend it. The buggy we have is the bugaboo chameleon - again would really recommend it as it comes with the bassinet to begin with for the first few months or so and then converts to the the more standard sit up seat. Also if you have the pebble car seat you can buy adapters and the pebble can then fit onto the wheel base of the chameleon which is really useful if LO has fallen asleep in the car and you are going out and about...

Hi all, wow there are getting to be quite a few of us in this thread now! I haven't been online for a while as have been pretty busy but look forward to attending one of the coffee mornings soon at marina or dubai mall. My LO has just started nursery (twin_butterfly he is 18 months old) and once he is settled I will have mornings free for meet ups or I am always free in the afternoons but LO will be with me! Anyone know of any good places for maternity clothes? I have finally popped out of my regular clothes and the only place I have found so far is destination maternity but I really want some shorts and they don't have any and won't be getting any in either!

Hi yaya5 - really interested to hear you are seeing Dr Yamini at Zahra. I am considering swapping as it's so much closer to us. Does your insurance cover it OK? I was worried as it was such a new hospital that insurance companies wouldnt have caught up. I love the fact the hospital is getting a birthday bath soon, but was worried when I heard they only had 4 x beds in NICU. I delivered at American with my son and had a good experience before and during birth but aftercare was lacking. I am unsure whether to swap. I think I'll go for a tour. I tried Exhale in my first pregnancy but struggled a bit with it as I havent done much yoga in the past and found it quite hard. My friend went to one she loved at the Yacht Club, but when I looked it up, she has left Dubai so I'm back to square one!

Hello ladies!! Don't often write on here but read all the time! =) Baby's DD is February 20. Seeing Dr. Yamini @ Zahra. I AM IN LOVE with that hospital and Dr. Yamini is so nice and sweet. I have only seen her once, but so far, so good!! Still have not gotten confirmation on *** yet (he/she was facing down last appt) but at Fetal Medicine Center I was told 75% chance a girl because of some measurement. Reality... DON'T CARE! as long as the baby is healthy! I had been looking at Britax B-Agile stroller and car seat online, but seems impossible to get here for a decent price. Wish the Babies R Us was as large here as in the US. =( A friend just gave me her Graco infant car seat, bassinet, diaper bag, blankets, toys and a few other goodies. Her baby is now 8 months, so she outgrew everything! =) So now I will look into Graco stroller, that was my second choice anyways, its been around for a very long time and its affordable, durable and reliable. Rated #1 infant carseat. =) I was reading the posts about the Pilates and yoga. Have never really been into it, I race triathlons so i'm more of a swim, bike, run kinda girl. But I would love to incorporate a prenatal class into my weekly workouts!! Any of you guys go to Exhale or the other one that was mentioned? What days? Would love to meet up! I have been at the gym 2 hours a day. Walking or cycling for 1 hour and then arms and legs workouts, i take long breaks in-between and socialize on phone. LOL I do get out and walk around my neighborhood when its cooler at night, but would love to add a class of Pilates or yoga. I have never done any yoga or Pilates before, but i'm sure it will be ok. What do you guys think?? Good luck to everyone and hopefully all the sicknesses are gone! I never had any, but the pimples are still here!! GRRR!

Has anyone got any recommendations for a car seat & buggy - especially those that have had children before (tried & tested)? I have ruled out a Graco as the car seat is inclined too high and makes babies head fall forward restricting the airway - apparently?!! I have heard good things about the Chicco Travel System & the Mothercare Spin. Would really appreciate anyone elses feedback!! :-)

Hi torjetaylor! Thanks for the welcome & congrats. Good to know I am not the only one worrying all the time! I would be interested in going along to the Dubai Mall Coffee Morning next week - do you know what day it is? I am new to this site and not the greatest at navigating my way around the site. Interested to meet up if you are going along? Adjusting to Dubai quite well now, the first 3 months was a challenge with the heat if I am honest & I usually the sun/heat!! Like that it is cooling down a little now tho. Hi AnonDubai - that sounds great to me forgetting your pregnant! Good idea waiting to tell your children till you find out the gender. I am hoping for a NVD birth also and want to try to breastfeed. I am readying myself with plenty of books. I seem to be more concerned about breastfeeding than the birth at the moment. Am sure that will all change soon enough!

Hi - expect you are excited for your fourth and know all the pregnancy tricks! Yes I think we were lucky as we found out at 14.5 weeks which is pretty early. Good luck at your 20 weeks scan - hope you get to find out the gender. Have you told your other children yet? Expect they will be excited too!! I have the anomaly scan in a couple of weeks and am hoping all will be okay. Did you have natural births with your other 3 children? And do you recommend any ante natal classes at all? xx Yes, I feel very been-there-done-that with this pregnancy. Some days I even forget that I am pregnant! My DS is only 15 months old but my daughters are older but I haven't told them yet because I know they're going to ask me the gender. One wants another sister and the other wants another brother! Yes, I had three NVDs so I hope to have another one. I never took any classes. I never thought that would be necessary because I always knew that I'd have an epidural so I wouldn't need the labor lessons. The only thing I wished I had understood was breastfeeding. I didn't breastfeed my first child because I wasn't aware of the most basic of breastfeeding concepts. I should have been, though....

Congrats dubaibambino, welcome to the group! :) I'm also first time mom due on Feb 11th. Definitely normal to be obsessing over every little thing (at least that's what I tell myself!), I'm the same way. Worry worry worry! :) I saw my doctor so much in the beginning that she called me her resident patient! I'm looking to meet some other first time moms too. I think there is a coffee morning in Dubai mall during the week, not sure what day.. I'm not working either and find it a blessing as I can spend my days resting if I need to! How are you adjusting to Dubai? Quite a change from Uk weather :)

Hi AnonDubai! Congrats to you on such a great date to be due - haha!! Is this your 1st too? Where are you having your baby? We have already found out that we're having a boy - expecting a naughty little rascal already! xx Hi! No, it will be my fourth. I am going to the government hospital for the birth but I have been going privately up until now because the government hospital is always very busy. You're lucky that you were able to find out the gender. I tried the other day but the baby would not stop moving so the doctor could not get a good look at that area. I hope to find out at my twenty-week scan though.
