I would like to have a first birthday get together for my baby boy. Ive tried searching on here but i mainly found comments saying why do you need a party etc :-S Anyway, my baby has his cousins leaving soon so thought it was a nice excuse to get everyone together before the summer.

I'm looking for suggestions on a venue. We haven't started asking round yet but theres 30 adults and 15 kids of different ages on the invite list, and we're looking at the end of May, late afternoon so a bit warm to be in a park and we really don't think we could fit everyone in at home. Any help or suggestions would be massively appreciated! I really can't think where would be suitable!

Thanks

For my LO's first birthday I hired Barney from Tumble Time. We had the party in the baby play area of the apartment we lived in at the time. Even the older kids aged around 5 and 6 loved him! Tumble Time have lots of other things they do for parties ... maybe their puppet show could be an idea? http://www.tumbletimedubai.com/gallery2.htm

for the events that i organise that have a mixed range of kids attending, I usually do as nams_new suggested... a bouncy castle or activity stations to keep the older ones occupied and games/etc for the younger ones... if u'd like any more advice feel free to mail me on my username at yahoo dot com

U can try renting out a few toys to keep the kids entertained. I haven't seen anything like that, but just liked the idea. Check out toysonrentme dot com. They have party orders on their website, maybe worth a look.

Hi all, thanks for your replies! I'm based in mirdif but most guests are in the new Dubai area so easy on location. We have a party area in our compound but I'm just worried what I'd do for entertainment as kids all different ages. Obviously the babies don't need anything but the older kids would get bored I suppose! No idea about budget yet, but have no clue what it should cost either! Vaish, are they just in Qatar as we're in Dubai?!? Thanks all

some of the clubs (like the Polo Club, Golf Clubs, etc.) rent out their facilities for private parties... possibly worth a try :) it all depends on your budget though

Do you know anybody living in an apartment that has a hall for public use? Our old building in the Fairways had one, which was able to be booked for parties etc, FOC as owners/tennants. We held our baby shower there, and there were always kids parties going on.
